Eggleton Styre
About the home
Eggleton Styre is full of character, and is very well placed for easy access to a wide variety of places of interest. The Forest of Dean is virtually on the doorstep, with its lovely woodland walks and well-preserved remains of industrial archaeology (Clearwell Caves are certainly worth a visit), and the rivers Wye and Severn both offer a wide range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Further a field but still easily accessible are Ross-on-Wye to the west, and the cathedral city of Gloucester in the opposite direction, with the Cotswolds beyond. For those wishing to leave the car at home, there are excellent walks in the immediate vicinity of the cottage. The Dick Whittington Farm Park is only a mile away and is a perfect all-weather destination for families.
Eggleton Styre has its own parking, and a very private and sunny patio, enclosable by gates. Guests are also welcome to share use of the orchard and nearby play area, which includes swings, a trampoline, sandpit and small pets’ corner. A small above-ground swimming pool (summer months) and horse & pony rides are available by arrangement with the owners. There is also a further area for dog-walking adjoining the orchard.
Graded 4 stars by Visit Britain, the cottage has an unusual and very attractive layout over three levels and is very well-appointed, creating a really relaxing and welcoming environment.
