One The Foundry, Visit Britain Four Stars, is an extremely high quality Forest of Dean holiday cottage. The cottage, which has a history dating back over 200 years, has been carefully and completely renovated by the owners creating a stunning holiday home set in a quiet corner of this truly magical part of England. Internally careful thought has been given to all details ensuring that guests have everything they could possibly want to make their stay a thoroughly enjoyable one. The rooms are spacious and are presented in a contemporary and refreshing fashion make the home thoroughly welcoming for all ages and absolutely ideal for families or groups looking to enjoy a unique holiday.

Externally there is the absolutely unique location of overlooking the local steam railway which has the odd steam engine trundling up and down each week (Don't worry this is NOT used for anything else!!). Otherwise there are countless places to visit all nearby including a couple of pubs literally around the corner.

We are delighted with this cottage and have little doubt that you will have an excellent holiday in it.

The Central England/Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds are one of the most ‘quintessential English’ regions in the UK.

It is officially designated as the country’s largest ‘areas of outstanding natural beauty’. Famous for its hillsides, river valley’s and Cotswold Stone Villages, the Cotswolds hold a wealth of history, stunning scenery, fine dining and many varieties of activities for all age levels.

Forest of Dean

Nearby are places of interest including the RSPB Hagshead Nature Reserve, Go Ape! activity centre, plus many more. Slightly further afield are the market towns of Chepstow, Ross on Wye and the particularly attractive Monmouth.

The Foundry is a converted warehouse built on the site of an historic ironworks which once had an enormous chimney stack (images at cottage!). Sadly this piece of history has now been demolished. The heritage steam railway runs directly beyond the property, but don't worry this doesn't mean high speed noise, it is the end of the line and the trains are only a few times a week. The location offers absolutely superb cycling (along disused railway tracks) and walking.
