We are Bed & Breakfast only with no self-catering and the whole cottage is not for rent as the owners live in the main cottage. The solo guest bedroom on offer is at the end of the cottage on the ground floor with its own entrance. Independent access to the room allows guests to come and go freely with no time restrictions on guests returning back after an evening out. A continental breakfast is pre-laid out in your room to have at your leisure in the morning. There is restricted head height in some parts of this room as it is a such an old cottage. Mobile phone reception can also be difficult at times in the room. Situated in the hamlet of North Gorley, near Fordingbridge, Hampshire, Walnut Cottage Bed & Breakfast is a quaint Grade II listed C16th thatched cottage. The cottage lies on a quiet lane with free parking outside.
The B&B room has a double bed with an en-suite shower, toilet and sink and a mix of modern features such as free WI-FI, free-view LED TV, refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities coupled with the olde worlde charm of oak framed brick walls and exposed low oak beamed timbers reputed to have come from the Tudor boat-building industry.

Other pubs and restaurants are within easy driving reach. A car is essential for exploring this beautiful area. Ideally based for cycling, rambling and exploring all the New Forest has to offer. About this location
The Hampshire region
There is something for everyone in The New Forest, whether you're looking to relax, explore or just enjoy. It is a mosaic of ancient and ornamental woodland, open heather-covered heaths, rivers and valley mires, a coastline of mudflats and saltmarshes, and pretty, historic villages. Lowland heath once covered much of southern England but the New Forest National Park is now the largest area that remains.
This is a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air and countryside. Lovely country walks locally, in the Avon valley of Godshill and Woodgreen area of the New Forest. If you want to know about the area we can offer a few tips and recommendations and point you in the right direction for walks or pubs. We know the area well and can recommend any number of activities. However, if you just want to take it easy then you are in the right place.
By the time you arrive at Walnut Cottage B&B you will already have absorbed some of the flavour of the New Forest – the ponies, the donkeys, the deer if you are lucky. For walkers and bird watchers this location is heaven but remember to bring walking boots or wellies!

"Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location"
Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend of relaxing for her birthday away from the pace of London and we weren't disappointed. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the room is amazing with a fridge, nice ensuite bathroom and WiFi. We really loved the outside area which was perfect for relaxing in the evening, also it's only a 5 minute walk to the local pub! The surroundings were also amazing!
Thanks very much for your very kind review. It is very much appreciated. We are so glad you both enjoyed your break. We look forward to welcoming you to our B&B if you decide to stay with us in the beautiful New Forest again.
