A rustic farmhouse kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a wooden table to all sit around. The stunning oak floored, exposed stone lounge is well equipped with two large leather sofas, TV, Juke box Hi FI, an extensive range of books, games, toys and plenty of DVDs and a lovely log burning stove. Perfect to curl up in front of and enjoy a well earned drink.

Further details outdoors

Outside you have your own garden front and back and through a gate, an acre of wooded grounds, home to our miniature Shetland ponies, there are streams, waterfalls, rope swing, and a camp fire, all for you to explore. This area is fenced off so perfectly safe for children. There is virtually no road noise as the cottage is at the end of a dead end road, only the sounds of nature! There is parking for several cars and a barn to store bikes. A garden table, chairs and umbrella make the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ of some of the fantastic local fair, there is a HotSpot BBQ which converts into a Fire Pit to keep you warm outside all night. Perfect for children and the nature lovers. There are chickens wondering around which the children can come and feed and collect some fresh eggs and Murphy and Paddy our sheep dogs and cats who will keep you company.

Further details

All guest receive a welcome pack of milk, tea & coffee, chocolates, bottle of wine, some of our own free range eggs, a selection of cottage delight products and a basket of logs to get you going with the fire. The cottage is equipped with washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, washing tablets, kitchen towel, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and oil for cooking.

Towels, T-towels and freshly ironed bed linen is provided.

All heating and electricity are included.

At festive times extra attention is made with Easter eggs for children and beautiful Christmas decorations and champagne and home made mince pies on arrival.

DOGS - Up to 2 well behaved dogs are allowed, (no puppies or large breeds) there is a fee of £30. PLEASE NOTE that dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the cottage or to sleep in the bedrooms or on sofas. They must be kept downstairs and out of all of the bedrooms to help us keep our high standards of cleanliness. If any extra damage or mess is left, a further cleaning fee will be payable.

The Peak District National Park region

The Peak District is famous for its walking and stunning scenery as well as the Spa Town of Buxton and the market town of Bakewell. It is also home to some of the worlds best rock climbing and some pretty amazing biking be it on or off road! With countless local food producers and some amazing restaurants you certainly wont be going hungry! Just to the south is the relatively unknown Staffordshire Moorlands and the wooded hills around Alton, well worth an explore.

Ford

Ford is a peaceful hamlet off the beaten track set on the banks of the river Hants. The cottage is about half a mile out of the village along a dead end road, it is secluded by trees from the main house and so if you are looking for seclusion, this is the place. It is a few miles to the nearest pub in Onecote (only walkable in very dry weather) and about three miles to the nearest shop. With some lovely walking from the front door you won't need to go far, Dovedale and the spectacular Roaches are just a few mins away by car. A good choice of pubs and restaurants are all close by. There is a lovely farm shop/cafe a 2 mile walk, up hill out of Ford and the new Peak Wildlife Zoo Park is also 2 miles away.

Thank you for your lovely review, we're very glad that you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage in good order. We are sorry that we didn't get to meet you, unfortunatley our holiday period is dictated by our children's school. We normally arrange for house sitters where we can, however they like to give people their privacy once checked in. We hope that you will visit Ford Wetley Cottage again in the future. Kind regards
