Very pretty and comfortable sitting area with sofas, and light and bright conservatory area in the front. Easy to use kitchen leading out to the beautiful pool with a glorious view. Most bedrooms on the ground floor, and one en suite off the mezzanine upstairs for additional privacy. The two single beds are bunkbeds.

Pool is equipped with an alarm. Most of the house is on one level (except for master bedroom upstairs) but please note for those of reduced mobility there are a couple of steps in the house.

refundable breakages deposit of 350 euros in cash required on arrival at property, refunded by cheque in your currency within 2 weeks of departure.
25% non-refundable deposit payable on booking to secure booking.
Remaining 75% payable 8 weeks before beginning of holiday.
If booking for more than one week - enquire for extra charge if desired mid-term cleaning/change of linen.

Area rich in history and fine wines, and famous, now 3 michelin starred restaurant up the road - Auberge de Vieux Puits. Amazing sea food in restaurants at beaches close-by, and oysters at Leucate.
The Languedoc is a great area to visit at any time of the year, but teeming with musical fetes in the summer. Perfect climate in the summer for pool/beach holiday and also great for a winter break with skiing not far away. The quality of the light is particularly stunning in this glorious countryside. Weather out of season can be refreshingly dramatic.
The Fontjoncouse area
Carcassonne with it's famous fortified inner city is close by, and you are in the heart of Cathar chateau country. Lagrasse ("one of the most beautiful villages in France") with abbey built by Charlemagne and Cistercian abbey of Fontfroide are both worth visiting.
Plenty to see and do all around, including safari park at Sigean, water park at Cap D'Agde, dinosaur museum at Esperaza. Canal du Midi close by. Loads of local festivals throughout the summer which are a delight.
Wine tasting galore of fine Corbieres and Minervois at the wine-makers domaines.

The property easily absorbed our extended family (3 grandparents, 2 adults and 2 teenage children) with lots of different places to sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. The house itself was beautifully furnished and decorated - with lots of little extras for a really comfortable stay. We had been a little worried about the sofa bed arrangement but these proved comfortable and gave a true 'twin room' option creating a separate bedroom. The two en-suites were lovely and walk through shower room a handy extra bathing area. Other extras like providing towels really makes a difference when you are packing for 7 - and the bottle of fizz in the fridge was a very welcome treat! Outside, the garden had plenty of places to seek out sun or shade and the pool setting was stunning. Booking couldn't have been easier and all our questions were answered knowledgeably which really helped as this was an area we hadn't visited before. A car really is a necessity. We visited both Carcassone, Narbonne and the beach at Le Franqui during our week - however we mostly stayed in and enjoyed the house and pool. Could see this would be a good base for exploring the area. A beautiful, comfortable house in a stunning, peaceful setting. |
