All summer there is in Fontenay le comte a summer Festival recreating medieval and renaissance entretainement close to the village of Vouvant classed as one of the most beautiful village in France. Also very close you can visit the two abbaye of Maillezais an Nieul sur l'autize and of cause the forever increasing in popularity Puy du Fou Near Pouzauge without mentionning the "marais Poitevin" (wet swamp)
How to get there
From La rochelle airport, follow the road to Fontenay le comte , then follow the signs to Bressuire-La chataigneraie, pass the village of Pissotte Then take right at the first round about follow "Le massif forestier -Le Poiron " and finally,first left.WE will be at the end of this road.
