About the home

A spacious gite Sleeping 9/10 people.Situated in an annex of a renaissance chateau,it has a pleasant veranda over looking the swimming pool, a large dining room/lounge ,a fitted kitchen with r,microwave, fridge,and a dishwasher 4 bedrooms ( one en suite ) and a separate bathroom and toilettes (washing machin....). for bigger groups,It can be combined with a smaller gite 3 bedroom gite which can confortably accomodate 7/8 people .

The vendée is the second department in France to get the most annual hours of sunshine. it is situated on the Atlantique coast and profits both from very good beach to beautiful country side surroundings.

The Fontenay le Comte area

All summer there is in Fontenay le comte a summer Festival recreating medieval and renaissance entretainement close to the village of Vouvant classed as one of the most beautiful village in France. Also very close you can visit the two abbaye of Maillezais an Nieul sur l'autize and of cause the forever increasing in popularity Puy du Fou Near Pouzauge without mentionning the "marais Poitevin" (wet swamp)and La rochelle with the francophonie festival and the ré island .

From La rochelle airport, follow the road to Fontenay le comte , once in Fontenay le Comte follow the signs to Bressuire-La chataigneraie, pass the village of Pissotte (on the D938 )Then take right at the first round about, follow "Le massif forestier -Le Poiron " and finally,first left. The proprety is at the end of this road.
