Some Attractions that should be included are Puy Du Fou Theme Park, Poitiers: Futuroscope, La Rochelle Harbor, Aquarium, beach and promenade and the Vouvant Medieval town. Painting, bird watchers, walkers paradise, forest fun park, great for sailing, fishing, canoeing and all water sports are 2mins away by car.
Fontenay le Comte / Mervent area
Some of the Attractions that should be included that are local within 10 minutes of us, are riding, swimming, sailing, adventure Parks canoeing, Zoo, amusement park and the Marais Poitevin to mention but a few A great family day which is only 4-minutes by car to the west of us is one of the longest fresh water lakes great for sailing swimming water-sports and also a flume for the children at Xanton-Chassenon. E very Thursday by the lake in Mervent a fish and chip evening, for Pizza’s lovers there is a delivery service by phone. In Mervent on the 14th July which is Bastille Day in the evening by the lake is a huge firework display held by the hunting Club a day not to miss. L’Hermenault holds a huge local fete which is a day to remember for all ages which is around the 1st, Sunday of September each year, and every month in the vendee is a village fete of one sort or another list is endless.
How to get there
From the A83 junction 8, follow signs to centre of Fontenay le Comte, take direction to Pathenay where sign posted at the edge of town, turn left to St Michel le Cloucq continue on the D49, at the cross roads turn left on to the D116 to Mervent after the snake in the road 50meters on the right is our house with b&b sign outside.

No dogs allowed sorry, Strictly no smoking except out side of the accommodation. Refundable breakages deposit of 150 euros required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). 25% of rental fee due six weeks before your stay to secure booking gite is avaible for long lets all year,with oak logs for the wood fire in the winter , a great way to spend christmas in france.
