The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region

The Font Romeu area

In the heart of the Catalonian Pyrenees, Font-Romeu is a well-renowned health resort with lots of sunshine and a host of activities that guarantee to get you back into shape.

An encounter with nature. 150 km of marked paths offering hikes for the whole family. Frequently, these paths are given over to a discovery theme: lakes, panoramas, forests, the glacier, seasonal livestock migration, architecture, great wildlife, etc.

Heritage and tradition. The Odeillo solar furnace, a research centre the only one of its kind in the world: the biggest and most powerful solar furnace in the world, nestling in the gigantic Font-Romeu amphitheatre. Its permanent exhibition allows you to penetrate the mysteries of solar energy thanks to interactive models, a fusion simulator; films, experiments, etc.

- The Little Yellow Train (Odeillo-Via SNCF railway station), an unforgettable tourist ride between Villefranche de Conflent and Latour de Carol.
- Mont-Louis (fortified town), the Angles safari park, Hot spring in Llo and Saint Thomas, Villefranche de Conflent, the Territory of Lapon de Pyrénées 2000, the Fontrabiouse and Villefranche de Conflent grottoes.

BY CAR:

- From Paris:Take the A.9 motorway as far as Perpignan, exit at "Perpignan Sud", then the N116 and D618 towards Andorra to Font Romeu.
- From Toulouse: Take the A64 motorway towards Montpellier/Barcelona, then towards Foix/Andorra; then the N20 to the Puymorens tunnel. Then drive towards Bourg Madame as far as Ur and take the D618 until you reach Font-Romeu.
The residence is located beside the post office.
