A Palace Apartment in Umbria

from £68 /night help

Very Good 4.5/5 Score from 9 reviews

Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6

Key Info
  • Great for children of all ages
  • No pets allowed

Bella Italia! This delightful two bedroom apartment (sleeping up to 6) is set in a majestic 13th century palace in the heart of the Umbrian town of Foligno and provides an inspirational place for a holiday.

The palace is situated just off the main square so there is no need for a car but plenty of parking is available if you need it nearby. Public transport to the many local medieval hilltop towns is easy—with Perugia, Assisi, Spello and Montefalco just a short train or bus ride away.

The townspeople are friendly and helpful and there are many wonderful reasonably-priced restaurants, while daily markets provide a range of local produce for self-catering. Both food and wine are of exceptional quality in this region, which is mainly agricultural.

An English-speaking manageress will meet you to explain the workings of the apartment and to answer any questions you may have.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen a large living and dining area, a modern bathroom with power shower and water jets.

I have had many guests stay here who have returned numerous times, this is a very special place which links back to an older time.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback which I always welcome from my guests. I'd just like to address the points you have raised. Regarding the heating, there must have been some misunderstanding as guests have complete control of the temperature of the apartment at all times. The hot water and heating can be operated from the boiler dials. The wood supply is renewed throughout the year, so if there was a lack of wood this will be put right in the future. The culture of this rental is for the guests to have a home away from home; the apartment has novels, art books, Italian language books and paintings for guests to enjoy. Re food/toiletries left by previous guests, many guests appreciate a half bottle of olive oil, condiments and tea bags being there for their use. Likewise with shampoo/sun cream and other toiletries, it saves baggage weight and having to buy some items for short term use.
Six people often stay and sleep in the beds provided comfortably. In the living room there is a sprung mattress double sofa bed and a wide divan, as well as a double and single bed in the bedrooms. The television was replaced immediately there was a problem with it, and the old one was left there temporarily until a man was available to take it away. I have been renting this flat out weekly for seven years, have had overwhelmingly positive feedback and many guests return so it is with some surprise that I read the above review. I respect every guests experience and consider their comments seriously.
