This pretty cream-coloured property with large windows is the first in a row of similar cottages just steps away from Flushing's waterfront. Kittiwake is a luxurious three-bedroomed house offers everything a family could possibly need for a relaxed seaside holiday.
Recently refurbished, Kittiwake exudes quality and has been furnished to a luxurious standard. Beautifully decorated using white, cream and neutral tones which echo the natural materials used extensively throughout this house, it is a delight to spend time in a property with such a relaxed, bright and airy atmosphere.
A feeling of calm welcomes you as soon as you step through Kittiwake's front door into a spacious white hallway, laid to grey Cornish slate tiled floor. Directly off here is one of this property's most spectacular rooms, a large living/dining space with distressed white painted wooden floors. Cleverly designed to give two distinct areas, this room has been furnished to an excellent standard using neutral pieces of comfortable furniture, punctuated by brightly-coloured cushions and individual pieces of work by local artists.
With views to the front of the property, the cosy living space with large corner sofa and two matching armchairs is arranged around the focal point of a lovely wood-burning stove. The owners have thoughtfully installed a flat-screen TV with Freeview and a Nintendo Wii for your entertainment. WiFi is also available should you wish to use the internet during your holiday. The dining area of this impressive room houses a large wooden table with six upholstered chairs; again, the epitome of style and comfort. For those holidaying with small children, a high chair is provided.
At the rear of this house sits its spacious, modern kitchen. With quality integrated appliances including a fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, it has all you need to cater for your family with ease during your stay here. A round table and four modern chairs provide a useful eating area in the kitchen, which opens up to a delightful decked seating area outside through large French doors.
The exterior space continues down a few steps which lead to a pretty courtyard garden with further table and four chairs, ideal for long, lazy brunches in the sunshine. Also to the rear of the property is an outhouse, which can be used for drying wet clothes and storing beach gear, and a side gate providing useful rear access.
This property comfortably sleeps six people, in the three bedrooms all located on the first floor. To the front of the house, with pretty views and a sideways glance across the water towards Falmouth, is the particularly attractive master bedroom with white painted timber-clad vaulted ceiling. Tastefully furnished to match the clean, fresh, nautical feel of the rest of the house, this room boasts a king-size bed and plenty of storage in its built-in wardrobe and stylish chest of drawers. An en-suite bathroom with under-floor heating, Cornish slate flooring and heated towel rail add another touch of luxury to this property.
The second bedroom is a particularly light and spacious room with twin beds and, again, a good amount of storage space. The third bedroom, to the rear of the house, also has twin beds and a built-in wardrobe with drawers and shares the same stylish, light and fresh décor you will have come to expect at Kittiwake. Luxury bed linen is provided for all rooms.
Echoing the luxurious feel of the master en-suite is the family bathroom, located off a generously sized landing, which also offers additional useful drying and storage space. Fitted in a contemporary style, this room has a large bath and separate corner shower and benefits from under-floor heating and a heated towel rail. High quality towels are provided for guests' use.
It is evident that a great deal of care and attention has been given to create a luxury property which retains such a comfortable, relaxed feel. Kittiwake is definitely a breath of fresh, sea air.

To the rear of the cottage is a cosy courtyard. This is a real sun trap and has a table and chairs for al-fresco dining.
There is a Nintendo Wii console with games, a comprehensive DVD library, and a book exchange.
For young children there is a cot and high chair at the holiday cottage.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome!

Flushing is perfectly placed to explore all of Cornwall. it is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect, between the banks of the Penryn River and Falmouth Harbour.
It became popular in the eighteenth century as the choice location for the wealthy Packet Ship captains, and was visited by Admiral Nelson. Latterly it has become one of the most sought-after locations anywhere in the West Country. Flushing has an unrivalled mild climate, streets lined with picture-postcard traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside.
There is also easy access onto some of the best sailing waters anywhere in the West Country, with the Helford River, the Fal Estuary, Falmouth Bay and Mylor Yacht Harbour all within reach. Flushing also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and it’s own dog-friendly beach.
Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.
Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also a super seafood restaurant located on the quay, a friendly well-stocked general store.
A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.

Unlike Mevagissey, Fowey, Padstow, St Ives and similar towns, parking is available, either outside the house or in a car park at the end of the street.
