The Tuscany region
Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions of Italy, boasting stunning scenery dotted with various characterful villages and properties. Good rail networks will take you to the nearby regions of Emilia Romagna, where you can visit the lively university city of Bologna, or to Lazio where you can see Rome. The region is renowned for its excellent cuisine and the fascinating architecture.
Florence is at the heart of Tuscany, a city with some of the most iconic architecture in the world with its Duomo and various piazzas. You can tour the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti to see some of the world's finest artwork, or relax in the Boboli Gardens. There are numerous trattorias and osterias where you can enjoy the regional dishes, and lots of shops to enjoy some of the elegant Italian fashion.
Restaurant Vinolio on Via San Zanobi 126 is a very good restaurant which is not expensive. The property is close to the pharmacy, supermarket and laundry. At Easter at 11am in Piazza del Duomo you have one of the most significant historical parades in the region called the Scoppio del Carro.

"Casa Morelli is an absolutely charming and spacious flat that has all the amenities one needs"
I have a freshman in college who is presently studying in Florence for a year, so my 16 year old son, my two twelve year old twins and I visited him over Christmas. We stayed at Casa Morelli from December 20, 2012 and departed December 31, 2012.
My son resides around the corner from the Piazza del Duomo, so we wanted to rent a flat that was in walking distance to him and the center of Florence. Casa Morelli was a perfect location – it is on a quiet street and less than a 10 minute walk to the center of Florence. The flat is on the second floor (no elevator for luggage, but we managed just fine), very spacious, high ceilings and beautifully tiled floors.
We loved staying at Casa Morelli. It had all the amenities that you would want and more. I cooked almost every night, so it was important for the kitchen to be stocked with all the appropriate utensils, pots and pans – Casa Morelli had everything covered. Our days were long, walking great distances each and every one of those days. Every evening we were so happy to arrive back to our cozy, peaceful, charming flat that we grew to love.
Marco, the gentleman who I communicated with during our rental process, was the absolute best! During our stay, we had a few questions regarding some of the appliances and the heating system. Any time we had to call Marco, he was always available and solved any problems that we had quickly and professionally. He was so helpful to us and was an absolute pleasure to speak with – you could just tell that he genuinely wanted you to enjoy his flat and your visit to the beautiful city of Florence.
I can't complete the review without mentioning an equally wonderful, sweet person who we were in contact with during our stay – Graziella. She is the housekeeper and resides in Florence, so if there is anything that is needed during your stay, Graziella will accommodate your needs. She doesn't speak any English (and our Italian is not so good!), but it is amazing how much communication you can have with smiles and kindness.
To conclude, our stay was wonderful! I hope to return to Florence someday, and if I do, I hope to again have the pleasure of staying at Casa Morelli. Thank you again to Marco and Graziella for making our stay perfetto! My children and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Florence and made amazing memories to last a lifetime.

"Perfect place to stay in Florence"
Casa Morelli was within easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Florence. The appartment was so large and full of light we couldn't believe how lucky we were to find such a place to stay. Communication with the owners was easy and we were met at the appartment on arrival. The market was just down the road and it was wonderful to stock up with fresh food and have the use of a full kitchen.

"Too bad this place is so filthy."
Not a bad location and a good sized apartment. Free internet. No air conditioning, which is a big minus. This place could be very comfortable if the owner spent some money on some furnature, better… More

"A welcoming place"
Casa Morelli is spacious and comfortable with a huge bedroom and well equipped kitchen. Roberta is a most gracious and kind hostess. Although she does not reside in Florence, she made sure that our stay was smooth by calling twice. Casa Morelli is close to the major old town sights yet far away enough from the tourist markets. Quiet and convenient, we will definitely stay again.

"Authentic Florence living with no frills"
You get to live like a Florentine in a residential neigbourhood overlooking their apartments as they overlook your (very large) apartment. From a couple of the shuttered windows you can even have a glimpse of the duomo. You get to hear all the noises of Florence- the sirens, the bells, the neighbours. You can walk to the nearest little supermarket up the street in just 1 minute and opposite it is a wonderful restaurant worth eating at (especially lunch - very cheap and good food). You can also walk in the other direction to the big markets and shop like an Italian for fresh fruit, veg, meats, cheeses etc. However if it's summer you will have to put up with no airconditioning and the apartment is stifling(day & night when the temperature is over 30)! The linen (towels and sheets) are not hotel quality more like your grandma's & so is the furniture. Mattress quality in master bedroom is excellent other beds are only OK. There are a few problems in the ceiling - some leakage has made a hole near front door. However if you don't expect a hotel quality place you'll find it's a good price and you'll have a central spot to explore Florence from with all the convenience of your own kitchen, laundry etc to return to.
Also don't expect any on the spot help. No English is spoken by the lady who lets you in and the owners don't live in Florence ...but they'll do what they can over the phone to help. Free wifi is good.
If you have any mobility problems avoid this place as the stairs are steep and high and there are more stairs inside - to laundry.

"Spacious, Good Value and Great Location"
Easy walking to all the sites in Florence, reasonably priced, great amenities, large fridge/freezer, washing machine and lots of space for a family. Highly recommended.
There are a couple of flights of stairs to access the apartment, but no problem for us.
