Home description
Villa Bottai is a splendid 13th Century Villa just 10 minutes from the historical centre of Florence. Recently we have restored the ground floor into a 2 bedroom apartment which is available throughout the year. The Villa is ideally situated: it has the feel of the countryside sitting amidst its own olive grove and fruit orchard on 6 hectares of land only minutes away from the historical centre of Florence. The terraced gardens have magnificent views of the Florentine Hills
The property is all enclosed with a high brick wall and electronic gates, a short gravel road inside the estate reaches to the private parking near the Villa from there a footpath leads to the formal Italian garden and to the entrance to the apartment. We let the apartment throughout the year for 1 week stays or weekends during mid and low season. Price includes electricity, gas, water, linen and local taxes and maid service can be arranged if required on a daily basis.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is known for its landscapes and its artistic legacy. Six Tuscan localities have been designated UNESCO protected sites: the historical centre of Florence(1982), the historical centre of Siena (1995), the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987), the historical centre of San Gimignao (1990), the historical centre of Pienza (1996) and the Val D’Orcia (2004).
Tuscany is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance movement, and its artistic heritage includes architecture, painting, and sculpture, collected in dozens of museums in towns and cities across the region. Perhaps the best-known are the Uffizi, the Accademia and the Bargello in Florence . Tuscany was the birthplace of Dante Alighieri ("the father of the Italian language"), Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Botticelli.
Tuscany is also well known for its wines, the most famous of which are Chianti, Brunello di Mantalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, it has 120 protected nature reserves. Other agricultural products include Chianina cattle (origin of the famous "Fiorentina" steak) and the production of olive oil, principally in Lucca and the surrounding hills.
The industry comprises factories producing Piaggio motorcycles and scooters. Tourism is the economic backbone of the so-called "Cities of Art" Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Cortona, Pienza, as well as on the coast and in the isles (Elba).
Florence / Galluzzo area
