Lovely apartment
About the home
Our apartments (I'm the owner of the ref 21897 too) are situated on the 3rd floor in a small building on a silent and narrow street between the river Arno and Tornabuoni street, a few steps from Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery, very close to all shops, banks and pharmacies.
The Dante and Beatrice apartments are a little piece of Florence in Florence. despite the 3rd floor you are really in the centre of everything!
The 2 properties were indeed 1 big property that we have divided 10 years ago.
It was my grandparents apartment...my grandfather won the apartment playing the lottery in 1960.
They have been living there until their death, when my parents and I decided to restore and divide in 2 smaller apartments.
Needless to say that the two apartments are for me something very special...a place where I grew up and loved.
we have restored them with love and passion, taking care to preserve the rustic tuscan look....the greater part of the furniture belonged to my grandparents.
The furniture, the decorations, the original ceilings...everything speaks about the rustic and tuscan feeling.
I think that beyond visiting a place you have above all to live it...and your holiday apartment has to give you an emotion when you enter in.
It has to make you feel at home away home. That's what I try to convey throught my 2 littles "jewels"!.
They have been recently restored by us ourselves according to the rustic Tuscan taste. The 7395 is perfect for 2 people but suitable for 3/4. The apartment is composed by a nice bedroom (queen size), a romantic intermediate floor with a multicolour roof window, a large corridor, an original Tuscan kitchen fully equipped, and a bathroom (with shower).

The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature, and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees, snaking sandy roads leading to rust-coloured farmhouses and moss-coated castles, symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible. Tuscany enchants us today because it holds together as a region, from the tiniest hamlet to Florence the Magnificent. For the living proof, take a short walk one day along the sides of the Belvedere in Florence: you will leave behind the traffic and suddenly find yourself strolling down quiet lanes bounded by tall stone walls, cypress trees and creamy-coloured villas. You could be anywhere in Tuscany, and we dare you not to fantasize about living here.
The Florence / Central Florence area
The cultural and historical impact of Florence (or Firenze) is overwhelming. Close up, however, the city is one of Italy's most atmospheric and pleasant, retaining a strong resemblance to the small late-medieval centre that contributed so much to the cultural and political development of Europe.
Its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Even long after it had set on the political and economic horizon, Florence upheld its elegant appearance: its skyline, all russet rooftops and lofty domes, is indeed picturesque.

My husband and I spent two glorious weeks over the 2011 Christmas holidays in this beautiful and comfortable apartment. Elena is the perfect host. She greeted us warmly upon our arrival, oriented us to all the conveniences of our new "home," and gave us great tips on food shopping and restaurants. Our welcome gifts of Christmas Panettone and wine were yummy. Elena and her mother were even kind enough to help us buy a chicken and fish when we ran into them at the Mercato! The location is extremely convenient, and even though you are just steps away from the museums and nightlife, the noise level is minimal. We were very comfortable and wanted for nothing during our entire stay. |

The central location of the flat allows visitors to feel part of one of the world's most beautiful cities. The river Arno is almost at the end of the street and all the city's major monuments and services are within easy walking distance. There are countless restaurants nearby, or you can live like a Florentine and buy your food and wine at the local markets and prepare meals in the flat's fully equipped kitchen. This is my second visit to the flat and I have not yet been able to find fault with any of the facilities. The owner is extremely friendly and is always on hand if there is a problem (though I have not yet experienced a problem in two visits). A comfortable place to relax after a long day's sightseeing, whilst still feeling connected to the sights and sounds of Florence. |

This place is really charming. For many years the apartment was the home of Elena's grandmother. Elena has done a beautiful, thoughtful job of updating and decorating it while keeping many of the elements of her grandmother's time. Great location, close to the Arno and Santa Maria Novella. An easy walk to anywhere in Old Florence. Convenient to the train station and bus stop. (But if you're flying in and are new to Florence, you might want to take a taxi from the airport.) The apartment is on the top floor of an old building, no elevator. So be aware there are a lot of stairs to climb (sixty). We didn't mind it, but some people might. Elena was so welcoming and helpful. |
Guestbook for Lovely apartment
The mantra of Real Estate agents when they are asked the three most important considerations about a house are — "location, location and location". Well, let´s say this sums up Elena´s apartment if you want to explore the city of Florence. And...it was clean. What more could one have asked for?" Many thanks John F.
"Enchanting comfortable apartment close to everything in Florence. Walking distance to train station and all major tourist sites. We felt very much at home and had a great stay."
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in early July. Elena is very friendly and provided her mobile number in case we needed to call her for any reason. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Our daughters were well pleased to have their own space up in the loft. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Very good water pressure in the shower, although the temperature was a bit tough to control. The newly installed air conditioning was greatly appreciated! The apartment was also ideally located on a small street with just a bit of noise during the evening. We were easily able to pop back to the apartment during the day for meals or just for a rest. We did not mind the stairs at all (except on the first day while hauling our luggage up!) Elena's recommendations for gelato and food were fantastic. We ended many of our days with a cheap take away meal from La Spada and a stroll across the nearby bridge to La Carraia Gelateria. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Florence."
The welcome that Elena gave us was wonderful. She spent time to give us the key, show us around the place, gave us a map of Florence and recommended places to see, eat and shop. The apartment was well equipped and had everything that we needed to get started. The place was very comfortable when looking for a break from exploring Florence. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone."
