Lovely apartment in Florence
from £70 /night help
Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Our apartments (I'm the owner of the ref 21897 too) are situated on the 3rd floor in a small building on a silent and narrow street between the river Arno and Tornabuoni street, a few steps from Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery, very close to all shops, banks and pharmacies.
The Dante and Beatrice apartments are a little piece of Florence in Florence. despite the 3rd floor you are really in the centre of everything!
The 2 properties were indeed 1 big property that we have divided 10 years ago.
It was my grandparents apartment...my grandfather won the apartment playing the lottery in 1960.
They have been living there until their death, when my parents and I decided to restore and divide in 2 smaller apartments.
Needless to say that the two apartments are for me something very special...a place where I grew up and loved.
we have restored them with love and passion, taking care to preserve the rustic tuscan look....the greater part of the furniture belonged to my grandparents.
The furniture, the decorations, the original ceilings...everything speaks about the rustic and tuscan feeling.
I think that beyond visiting a place you have above all to live it...and your holiday apartment has to give you an emotion when you enter in.
It has to make you feel at home away home. That's what I try to convey throught my 2 littles "jewels"!.
They have been recently restored by us ourselves according to the rustic Tuscan taste. The 7395 is perfect for 2 people but suitable for 3/4. The apartment is composed by a nice bedroom (queen size), a romantic intermediate floor with a multicolour roof window, a large corridor, an original Tuscan kitchen fully equipped, and a bathroom (with shower).

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature, and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees, snaking sandy roads leading to rust-coloured farmhouses and moss-coated castles, symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible. Tuscany enchants us today because it holds together as a region, from the tiniest hamlet to Florence the Magnificent. For the living proof, take a short walk one day along the sides of the Belvedere in Florence: you will leave behind the traffic and suddenly find yourself strolling down quiet lanes bounded by tall stone walls, cypress trees and creamy-coloured villas. You could be anywhere in Tuscany, and we dare you not to fantasize about living here.
The cultural and historical impact of Florence (or Firenze) is overwhelming. Close up, however, the city is one of Italy's most atmospheric and pleasant, retaining a strong resemblance to the small late-medieval centre that contributed so much to the cultural and political development of Europe.
Its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches attest to the Florentine love of display. Even long after it had set on the political and economic horizon, Florence upheld its elegant appearance: its skyline, all russet rooftops and lofty domes, is indeed picturesque.

"Quaint but roomy apartment"
We enjoyed our stay in Florence at this well maintained apartment. It is located within walking distance of all the major sights. It was spacious with a cute kitchen, comfortable bed, and very clean bathroom (perhaps recently remodeled?). Elena was very friendly and helpful in showing us where the grocery stores, etc were located. She even carried my bag up the four flights of steps! The one thing you should be aware of is the apartment is located directly across the street from the kitchen of a popular restaurant. The banging of pots and pans and some road traffic from the end of the block was pretty loud. However, the noise stopped around 10:30 pm so if you don't go to sleep early it may not be a problem. There is a washer in the apartment that might be handy for those who have been traveling a while.

"A perfect week!"
We arrived about 1pm on Saturday after a sleepless all-night flight from NY via Rome. We were so ready to take a nap. Elena and her helper were still in the middle off cleaning the apartment, so she suggested we leave the luggage and come back in 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We looked so weary and disappointed that she quickly suggested that she'd make up the bed, and if we didn't mind them making noise as they finished cleaning, we could close the bedroom door and get some rest. Elena gave us a good map of Florence on which she marked the local supermercato, the closest ATM, the best gelateria in Florence, and a few local restaurants. It was the perfect beginning to our stay.
The apartment was great. It's location is ideal - it's on a small street with no traffic - but it's an easy 10-minute walk to the middle of Florence or to the train and central bus stations. It's comfortable and has everything you'll need. You should know that it's on the third floor, not counting the ground floor, with no elevator. So, by the end of the week we were in much better shape. We stayed in a little hill town for the next week, and our hikes there were easier because of our exercise in Florence.
If we return to Florence, we will definitely stay in this apartment (or another of Elena's apartments).
Thank you Tim for your nice review. I'm so happy you had a great stay with us!!!

The apartment was very central, had all the necessary utilities required. It had a lovely bathroom with lots of hot water. (There were 4 of us staying there). Elena was very helpful in giving advice where to go and how to get there. There was a problem with one of the beds and Elena fixed it immediately, she was very good and I would recommend the apartment to groups of 4 or less. We booked the apartment at the last minute as we had a problem with our previous apartment and Elena was very very helpful. Don't know what we would have done without her help.

"Great loft apartment"
We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was great location and we had no problems. The owner is very nice and provided some very helpful advise on her favorite spots in Florence and areas to avoid. This apartment was perfect for 3 people. The one bed room was very large and the lofted room was perfect for one. The AC and hot water worked well also. Be aware there is a 3 floor walk up but well worth it for the good price.
