Apartment of 50 square meters of new complete renovation located in the heart of the district of San Lorenzo in Florence and more precisely in Via Faenza, a stone's throw from the the Medici Chapels, from all the historical monuments and from the train station that can be easily reached by 5 minutes walk.

The apartment consists of a dining room with kitchen equipped with everything You need, i.e. complete of oven, dishwasher, freezer, microwave etc, an extendable table that can accomodate up to 10 people, double bed sofa. The apartment is completed by one spacious sleeping room with double bed and additional bed sofa, by a dressing room and a very nice bathroom with shower.

Car parking very close: underground parking at Central Market and underground parking at Santa Maria Novella Railway station.

A few steps away are the curches, monuments and museums known all over the world, such as Medici chapels, San Lorenzo Church, the square and the church of Santa Maria Novella, Florence Baptistry, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Academia Gallery.

Framed by the numerous shops, pizzerias and restaurants where you can taste the typical cuisine of Florence and visit San Lorenzo Market, the largest indoor market in Florence.

In the nearby station of Santa Maria Novella you can rent bikes, a valid alternative, perhaps the best way to see and discover Florence.

The apartment can easily be reached by car and agreement can be taken for the parking. Nevertheless a car is not needed: the main train station is 5 minutes away and all the city centre is within walking distance. Bicycles can be easily rented and sightseeing buses stop at 5 minutes of walk from home.

LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS: The location is another strong point. In the very heart of Florence, The apartmentbis located within 5 minutes walking distance from the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore and the Baptistery of San Giovanni, and within 10 minutes walking distance from the Uffizi, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio.

SIGHTSEEING: The apartment is ideally situated to explore central Florence from its heart, without the need to use a car or public transportation, as most of the city center is prohibited to traffic.

EATING IN FLORENCE: Right in Piazza del Mercato Centrale there are many restaurants and trattorias where you can eat. During the mild season it is pleasant to eat at the outside tables.

For grocery shopping nothing is better than the typical colored banks of fruit, vegetables, fresh bread, milk, meat and cheese located inside the nineteenth century building of the Mercato Centrale, right in front of you. (Mon-Sat 7am-2pm, Sat 4pm-8pm). There is plenty of fresh produce, cured meat, and local cheese to be sampled and purchased from a variety of vendors.

Firenze è universalmente riconusciuta come Città dell'Arte con un inestimabile patrimonio di architetture, dipinti, sculture, memorie storiche e scientifiche.

Il cuore di Firenze è Piazza della Signoria, col maestoso Palazzo Vecchio, con la galleria di capolavori scultorei nella Loggia dei Lanzi e la vicina Galleria degli Uffizi, uno dei musei d'arte più rinomati al mondo. Poco lontano si trova il centro religioso della cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, con la maestosa cupola (la più grande mai costruita) che, ai tempi del Granducato, si diceva che con la sua ombra arrivasse a coprire tutta la Toscana; l'enorme Duomo è magnificamente corredato dal Campanile di Giotto, uno dei più belli d'Italia, e dal Battistero di San Giovanni, con le celebri porte bronzee tra le quali spicca la dorata porta del Paradiso.

Il fiume Arno, che passa in mezzo alla città, occupa un posto nella storia fiorentina alla pari con la gente che ci vive. Storicamente, la popolazione locale ha una relazione di odio-amore con l'Arno, il quale ha portato alternativamente i vantaggi del commercio, e i disastri delle alluvioni. Tra i ponti che lo attraversano il Ponte Vecchio è unico al mondo, con le caratteristiche botteghe di gioiellieri nelle casette costruite su di esso. Attraversato dal nobile Corridoio vasariano, è l'unico ponte della città ad essere passato indenne attraverso la seconda guerra mondiale.

Oltre agli Uffizi, Firenze conta altri musei che sarebbero l'attrazione artistica principale di ogni altra grande città del mondo: la Galleria dell'Accademia, il Bargello o la reggia di Palazzo Pitti con i suoi otto musei tra cui la Galleria Palatina. I fiorentini si vantano di possedere il migliore esempio di bellezza nell'arte sia femminile (la Venere del Botticelli) sia maschile (il David di Michelangelo).[22][23][24]

Firenze come "culla del Rinascimento" ha i suoi capolavori nelle opere di Filippo Brunelleschi (lo Spedale degli Innocenti, la chiesa di San Lorenzo e quella di Santo Spirito) e di Leon Battista Alberti (la facciata di Santa Maria Novella e Palazzo Rucellai), ma anche altri periodi artistici hanno lasciato i loro capolavori assoluti: dal romanico di San Miniato al Monte, al gotico di Santa Croce (dove si trovano le sepolture delle italiche glorie, come le definì Ugo Foscolo, pure lui ivi sepolto), alle stravaganze del Manierismo del Giambologna o di Bernardo Buontalenti (come la Fontana del Nettuno o il Giardino di Boboli), fino ai capolavori dei grandi architetti italiani del Novecento come la stazione di Santa Maria Novella e lo Stadio Artemio Franchi, rispettivamente di Giovanni Michelucci e Pier Luigi Nervi.

Il centro di Firenze con le sue centinaia di attività commerciali è un paradiso per lo shopping e lo svago, dalle eleganti boutique d'alta moda e i caffè storici ai vivaci mercati storici all'aperto, oltre che ad ospitare numerosissimi locali notturni, discoteche, american-bar, lounge-bar e luoghi d'incontro per l'aperitivo.

La basilica di San Lorenzo è una delle più importanti chiese della città, oltre che quella documentata dai tempi più antichi, addirittura dal 393 in occasione della visita a Firenze del vescovo di Milano Sant'Ambrogio. Protetta dai Medici sin dai tempi di Giovanni di Bicci, padre di Cosimo il Vecchio, fu completamente ristrutturata su commissione dello stesso Giovanni nel 1419, affidando il progetto a Filippo Brunelleschi.

Dietro la basilica si trovano le Cappelle Medicee.

L'animato mercato intorno alla basilica rende il quartiere veramente caratteristico.

Famoso anche per l'antico Mercato Centrale al coperto dove si possono trovare tutte le specialita culinarie tipiche di Firenze e della Toscana.
