The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

The wonderful thing about Tuscany, is that words fail to describe it. Where does one start? The vintage wine? Warm people? Beautiful beaches, historical sites, sumptuous foods and hidden villas? The region also has some of the Italy's most impressive medieval hill towns, including San Gimignano, Volterra and Certaldo. Tuscany as a holiday retreat has the best of everything, whether you're looking for culture, shopping, nightlife, quiet peaceful sipping of fine wines, nature, or the greatest museums in the world, it is yours to discover...
The Florence / Central Florence area
Florence is probably the most renowned city in Italy, centrally located within easy range of Siena, Rome, Bologna, Pisa and the sea. Florence is set amongst the gorgeous Tuscan countryside yet is a lively centre of culture. It was the birthplace of the Renaissance, and boasts some of the most important art, architecture and monuments in the world, including Bruneleschi's Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and the Boboli Gardens, just to mention a few. And of course there are plenty of cafes within which to sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere (and ice cream and coffee!).
You can find all of the relevant information about Florence at www.firenzeturismo.it including museum information, expositions, concerts, events, night life, etc.

Charming, rustic residence near the heart of Florence with a garden/yard big enough to eat breakfast/evening meals and feel you weren't in a big city. Grace the most gracious of hosts! An amazing value for money! Wouldn't hesitate to rebook in future. |
Guestbook for Villino Limonaia
Dear Grace,
we just wanted to say thank you very much again for our lovely holiday in your fabulous cottage in Florence.
We both enjoyed it very much. It is a beautiful, vibrant city with lots of great places around the area to visit. Our stay was made extra special by our staying in such a lovely cottage which way surpassed our expectations from what we had seen on the website. To find such a lovely haven in easy reach of the city in which to relax after busy days of sightseeing was fantastic, a hidden gem!
Thank you for making us so welcome. We have very fond, happy memories of our trip to Florence and will definitely be recommending the Villino Limonaia to all our friends.

We had a wonderful time whilst staying in your Villa for five nights from 11th-18th October 2008. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and at ease in your home.
The Villa is in an excellent location within walking distance to the many attractions Florence has to offer. The Villa is very secure and we enjoyed sitting in the beautiful walled garden in the evening with a glass or two of red wine after the long days of site seeing. The hot tub Jacuzzi bath was also most welcome to ease the aching limbs! The villa is very clean and spacious for two people; and has everything you could ever need for your stay.
Florence is truly a magical place and we have some very special memories of the time we spent at the Villa. Thank you so much for all your help and advice Grace and we will definitely be returning some time in the near future.

We stayed for 5 nights at Villino Limonaia and felt at home straight away. The property is of a high standard, spotlessly clean, with all amenities needed, very good air conditioning and even has mosquito nets on all the windows. It has a large garden with gazebo, lovely to relax in, surrounded by trees, has plenty of shade when needed and is very private. We travelled to Pisa, Lucca and explored Florence itself; but other places you could visit are San Gimignano, Siena or more, even beach towns travelling from Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence. Lucca is lovely for a day out and you can walk around the medieval walls or hire a bike very reasonably and cycle around them as we did. Florence itself is great and has a lot to see and do. There is a very good supermarket just down the road from the property and a lovely park just across the road from Villino Limonaia with good views of Florence. We have very fond memories of our time at Villino Limonaia, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend. Thanks for all your help Grace, we may see you again! Angela & Mark.
Thank you for letting us stay in your charming apartment. It had everything we needed and so much space for just two peolpe, especially the garden in which we always had breakfast (such a treat for londoners)!. The apartment was really comfortable and the juccuzi was ideal after a hot day. The location so close to the centre of town really did make being a 'tourist' so easy.We will certainly recomend Villino Limonaia to all our friends thinking of going to tuscany.
Thanks for being such a helpfull and friendly hostess,

I had a wonderful experience staying at Villino Limonaia. Having my morning coffee in the garden under the Tuscan sun was out of this world. Grace was the perfect hostess. I will definitely be returning here soon.

Thanks for a wonderful week in Florence! We loved the house and the beautiful garden atmosphere, and the neighborhood is very sweet. Our kids camped in the garden and will always remember the beautiful view of the city from the park across the street.

Grace, thanks very much for the use of the villa. It was clean and well equipped. It was nice to sit and relax in the garden with a vino or two. The villa was within easy reach of the city centre but you could easily forget the hustle and bustle on the other side of the gate. A personal thanks for your extremely warm welcome and your kindness. One of the loveliest people I have ever rented a holiday home from.
Warmest regards, Marie and Joe
