Villa Molinaccio is wonderfully situated in the midst of classical Tuscan countryside and is the ideal escapade if you are seeking for a holiday in the country, yet enjoying the vicinity with Florence.

Villa Molinaccio is within the Borgo Molinaccio Estate where you will enjoy the company of the locals. The estate is situated in its own private wooded park surrounded by lovely open countryside. It stretches over approximately 16 hectares of land, five hectares given over to woodland, and the aristocratic owners will be happy to offer you four complimentary bottles of the local Chianti wine which will be waiting for you to sample. The owners will also leave the necessary for American breakfast.

A road lined with cypresses leads to the late 17th century villa, which has retained all the charme and the character of its former days, yet has the avantage and convenience of modern facilities. In the country kitchen there is a fridge/freezer, an oven, iron and washing machine, TV with satellite in all rooms.
There are three double bedrooms and one suite with private kitchen and terrace, each with its private bath with either shower or bath.

There is a superb living room with fireplace which has been personally refurbished by the owners and in this room you will see pictures of the family ancestors.

The swimming pool is shared amongst the locals and is a round shaped pool (normally open May-Sep) and is surrounded by trees and grass, there are also two gazebo for those wanting to relax in the shade. At the side of the villa there is a private entrance to an apartment which is used by the owners and will not disturb guest’s privacy.
Villa Molinaccio is a wonderful base for a holiday with a difference and is easily accessible to the highlights of Central Tuscany.

The shop of Antico Forno Marconi, Il Ciliegiolo and La Porta del Chianti Restaurant are only 1 km away, by the bus stop.

Brunelleschi’s superb Pazzi chapel at Santa Croce. And of course the Uffizi Gallery which houses probably the world’s greatest collection of Italian Renaissance art.

How to get there

From Florence Airport
Exit Florence Airport and at the first stop sign take a right turn following the green sign A1/A11 AUTOSTRADE. Continue for 4 kms and take the right turn for A1 BOLOGNA ROMA. Follow the slip-road for 1km passing the Agip Hotel on your left. Pick up the ticket at the toll and take immediate left lane marked ROMA-PISA NORD, then follow the signs A1 ROMA.

Drive along the A1 for 15kms and exit at FIRENZE CERTOSA. Having paid the toll, take the second exit of the roundabout and join the Via Cassia in direction of Greve in Chianti.The first town that you come across is Tavarnuzze (beware of speed cameras! Speed limit is 50 kms p/hour).

Continue straight on and you will reach Scopeti and soon after you will see the American cemetery on your right. On your left you will have “ Le Terme di Firenze” the Florence Spa.Continue straight ahead and you will reach Falciani Restaurant.
Here the Cassia continues to the right in direction of Siena, you need to turn left on the Chiantigiana road following signs for GREVE

Soon after, you will reach locality Falciani, go past Bar Marconi, which is where you can buy your small groceries even on a Sunday.

Continue on this road for approx. 800 m and turn right where you see a blue SITA sign. After 200 m turn right following signs for AZIENDA MOLINACCIO and drive up this dirt track.
Turn right and you have arrived to the villa.

The piano nobile - the first floor - has been given over to the bedrooms, each one with central heating. From the entrance, lying across the Italian garden, you walk to the main entrance and a set of stone stairs leading up to the first floor, where all the rooms are located. The three double bedrooms are in typical Tuscan style, offering modern facilities such as en suite bathrooms with shower, satellite TV and fridge.

The rooms are all spacious, furnished with style and antique pieces. There is also a suite. This has a large window where steps lead up to the terrace overlooking the Italian garden. The suite has its own small separate kitchen with two electric hobs and sink.

All the rooms share a living room with a kitchenette with four gas hobs, sink, washing machine, electric oven and microwave, toaster, freezer, mixer and American coffee machine.

A circular swimming-pool is located at the top of a track next to the villa, where the farmhouse overlooks the open countryside. Nearby these Tuscany vacation rentals you will find a number of sporting clubs with tennis courts, a thermal spa and pool, horse riding stables and golf courses.

Further details outdoors:
The little village of Falciani is 1.2 km away. It has a grocers shop open seven days, and there are two restaurants with typical Tuscan cuisine. On request, bridge classes, painting and pottery painting decoration courses can be organised for you.

Lying just south of the Renaissance city of Florence, this Tuscany vacation rental lies in the middle of the classic Chianti countryside. This area of Tuscany, stretching down from Florence to Siena, is what many of us picture when we dream of Tuscany. A long stretch of hill towns and vineyards, bathed in sunshine and superb light during the summer, and mild in the depths of winter, and with many hundreds of acres of woodland complementing the vineyards and fields. Serried rows of olives and grapes roll over the hills.

Dear Silvia,
I meant to write to right after our holiday, but got very busy with relatives in town.

I wanted to thank you for your recommendation, we had a great time and everything worked out very well for us. The rooms were very comfortable, Betti was most friendly and so were the dogs :) In fact, the only "problem" was that our twins would have wanted to stay at Betti's to play with the dogs rather than go out sightseeing! Also, the Easter lunch was excellent, we had the best lamb we've had in ages.
I am sure we will be back in Tuscany, and I will contact you for more recommendations. If you talk to
Betti please pass our thank yous for a lovely Easter.
