Studio in Central Florence
Studio | No Bedrooms | sleeps 2
Ref. 15147 - This romantic apartment is 25m2 in size and is suitable for a maximum of 2 persons. It is located on the second floor (no lift) of a beautiful building dating back to 1300, in the heart of the city centre and only few minutes walk from Piazza Santa Maria Novella.
The Ponte Vecchio was built in 1345 and is the oldest bridge in Florence. Interestingly, it is also the only bridge that was left untouched by German forces after their rapid withdrawal from Florence in August 1944. The various artisan shops found on the bridge itself (former butchers) are these days home to many prestigious jewellers. The Corridoio Vasariano, also located on the bridge, ties together Uffizi with the Palacio Pitti and is home to a broad collection of paintings. The location of the apartment allows you to reach all of these and many other notable points of interest within minutes.
The fantastic studio apartment includes a well lit dining room with a beautifully preserved traditional Florentine terracotta floor. Here you will find a comfortable double sofa bed, wardrobe, LCD TV and fully equipped, modern kitchen. The bathroom comes equipped with a shower, perfect for when you need to relax.
You will have full access to air conditioning throughout the duration of your stay.
Additionally, there is one further apartment (15145) available for up to 4 persons in the same building and on the same floor. These two apartments offer the perfect solution to large families or groups of friends looking to stay together in total privacy.

Description: The area of Santa Maria Novella is located in the north-east of the historical city of Florence and after the centre is one of the most important parts of the city as the home of the major train station that receives the majority of Italian and foreign rail traffic in and out of the city. Its central location allows travelers to visit the main monuments close at hand without having to take buses or taxis on arrival. The Santa Maria Novella square is at the very heart of the district, surrounded by historical buildings, gardens, obelisks and fountains. From the Middle Ages onwards it was often used to host parties and public events. The square is home to the beautiful Basilica de Santa Maria Novella that was built in the XIV century and is one of the most important expressions of Florentine Renaissance. In the interior visitors can appreciate some of the most noteworthy works of art of the first Renaissance period such as the magnificent Trinidad del Masaccio. The area is also home to the Teatro Comunale, the Congress Palace and the Fortaleza da Basso; the largest fortress existing within the city walls, and currently used to host handicraft fairs or the Pitti immagine fashion exhibition that attracts professionals from all over Europe. It is a particularly lively part of Florence and the meeting place for many young people in summer with a number of bars and discos. A little further away from the station is the area of San Lorenzo that stretches around its Basilica that was consecrated in the year 393. San Lorenzo is also an interesting cultural and leisure destination, including the famous chapels Capillas dei Medici and the Biblioteca Laurenziana with its beautiful cloister, as well as a busy market held in the same area. For those looking to get away from the bustle and after a little relaxation a visit to the Parco delle Cascine is highly recommended, one of the largest public parks in Florence. There is also the possibility to have a quick dip under the stars, perfectly possible at the Pavoniere swimming pool located in the park, where it is also possible to enjoy a drink and aperitif.
