It's a beautiful and characteristic under-roof apartment .Well furnished, the apartment is composed of : entrance, 2 bedrooms with one double bed each, the kitchen, the dining room, a large livingroom, and 1 bathroom with bathtub. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook.
The wonderful position, Sant' Ambrogio district, allows the guests to reach all the Florence mayor cultural attraction with some minutes walking. It is possibly the last surviving remnant of popular Florence, the site of artistic and gastronomic experiments, a vital and multicultural quarter. Stretching out behind the Basilica di Santa Croce, studded with precious gems such as the Loggia del Pesce, the church of Santa Maria Maddalena de` Pazzi, the very ancient church dedicated to Sant`Ambrogio and the nineteenth-century Synagogue, as well as artistic masterpieces, this quarter reveals to visitors innumerable little treasures of authenticity with its traditional market and typical shops, coffee bars and theatres.

"Excellent location, beautiful apartment, great hospitality"
The apartment was large and beautiful, well furnished with all the necessities that one might need. We stayed in the place for a week, and were able to get a good sense of the neighbourhood. The apartment is well located, as it is right in the centre of Florence, but in an area of town that is less saturated with tourists. As such, the restaurants and local market were well priced with excellent local cuisine. Nicla, the owner, was very helpful and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed and that our stay was enjoyable. Highly recommend staying here.

"A bright, comfortable, spacious apartment in the historic center of Florence."
I lived in this wonderful apartment while in Florence on a research fellowship and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. I heard about it with rave reviews from a friend who had also stayed here a few years before me. First off, the owner is incredibly friendly and gracious (and speaks perfect English!). The location is perfect for long or short stays, if you want to be close to the center of Florence, but have a more local experience within what used to be the old city walls.
From the kitchen window you have a view of the Tuscan hillside, while overlooking the best market in town (Mercato Sant'Ambrogio) for a year-round selection of local fruits and vegetables, as well as meats, pasta, etc inside the market building. Some of the best pizza is just a few doors down (Pizzaiuolo). There are a number of well-known restaurants (Cibrèo and Teatro del Sale) nearby as well. Santa Croce is a five-minute walk away, the Duomo is ten minutes on foot. There's a city bus stop at the end of the block with busses that will take you to the main train and bus stations in ten minutes, which is great for arriving/leaving and day-trips to Rome, Siena, Bologna, etc. There are three grocery stores within a five-minute walk (Conad, Coop, etc) that are open until 8~9pm.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses... everything need for a dinner party (including a dishwasher). The bathroom (with tub) is one of the bigger bathrooms you find in Italy (towels included). The washing machine works great, as does the A/C for the toastier days of summer. Overall, a wonderful place to call home for a few days, a few weeks, or (like) a whole year. Every guest who visited was amazed by the apartment, enjoying the space, the light, and the welcoming comfort of all the furniture and decorations. Highly recommended!

"Gorgeous and spacious renovated apartment in the heart of Florence"
Nicla's apartment is an absolute gem in the vibrant (but not too loud) Sant'Ambrogio neighborhood of Florence. Close to everything but away from the tourists. It has been renovated recently and has a gorgeous kitchen, lots of space for entertaining or just relaxing, and two wonderful bedrooms. One is in a loft above the living area and has an amazing open feel and quite large. The other is even bigger, tucked away, and tranquil. The decorations are tasteful and in local style. The A/C (yes!) takes away the sting of heat in the summer (it won't blast you with cold, but works fine). Three flights (plus a fourth for the loft room) mean that I would not recommend for people with difficulty climbing, but for everyone else it's perfect. And Nicla is really the best. Have stayed several times and always wonderful.
