"A home in Florence"
No strangers to Florence, we wanted a bolt-hole this time that gave us the freedom a hotel would not. The San Lorenzo apartment - directly across from the Mercato Centrale - proved to be just that. F… More

"Facility nice, but didn't return promised property."
The apartment was nice, except that we stayed on the 3rd floor - lots of steps. My biggest complaint is that I left some jewelry in a drawer in the apartment. I called right away and gratefully they… More

"Great location, great service."
The apartment is situated in from of Florence's Central Market. 1 blocks from Basilica Di San Lorenzo, 3 blocks from Florence Cathedral. Market attracts a crowd, but the market has converted the second floor into an amazing Food Court. Worth having lunch and coming back in the evening for some vino....trust me, it's an experience. Back to the apartment, spacious for 6. 2 decent size bathrooms, clean and contemporary decor....that's right no 1950's furniture. The most appealing factor I think was the attention from the agency that manages the apartment. These guys are very friendly and provided advise on what to see, where and when to go. Top notch service! Thank you guys. Thank you Cristina!

"Florence at Your Doorstep"
A few blocks from the train station (walkable w luggage), bus, and Duomo. Right outside the San Lorenzo market with numerous restaurants right outside your door. The Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery were about a 10 minute walk. Prebook Uffizi Gallery and Accademie tickets, or get the Firenze card and plan to wait about 30-60 minutes to get in, longer if you don't prebook. We arrived about an hour and a half after opening, I would advise to get there slightly before the opening to reduce your wait. Pisa is about a 40-60 minute train ride. Pre-book leaning tower visits so you are assured to get in. Otherwise, the wait can be 3-4 hours.
The rooms were clean and simple. One room is ensuite and the other has a walk down the common hallway to its bathroom with shower. Both showers were a standard small European shower about 2.5 foot square, but were useable. They could have nicer waste bins and a few other things seemed like shortcuts were taken. It is advised on the apartment rules to only use 2 electrical devices in the apartment at once. The air conditioning was controlled per room. The first night the ensuite one was not working and produced a puddle on the floor, but was fixed the next day. Wi-fi was supposed to be available, but was not yet hooked up. They indicated you should get free Internet with Firenze card, but it was difficult to get reception and it was 1 bar if you did. If the Wi-fi does not work for you, ask for a discount.
The clothes washing machine worked, but you had to hang clothes to dry. The refrigerator kept things nice and cool. We did not use anything else in kitchen, because too many good restaurants right outside or within a block. The living room was sizable with a large community table and a view of San Lorenzo Market and dome and of the larger Duomo if you lean out the window. The apartment was on the third floor with only stairs available.
Try one of the Vespa tours that drives you out of town to mount scooters to view the lovely Tuscan countryside. There are bike tours too, but take the scooters so you can enjoy your vacation. Unless you really like biking up hills.
The food in Florence was a lot better than in Rome. We had nothing but good meals.
The person letting us into the apartment was about 15 minutes late, and the instructions about ringing the bell for individual did not work, as the apartment is one floor above that one. The son indicated he had looked out the window and did not see us congregated below at the door so did not know we were there. I would advise them to meet at the front door in the future if they read this. So check in tool about 30 minutes from the desired meeting time.
Overall a good location and I would recommend it for the price. Much cheaper then booking two hotel rooms and you feel more in touch with the town.
