The Bargello is an independent villa on the eclusive Rubbiano estate. On the ground floor there is a spaciously comfortable living room with an authentic stone fireplace and open-plan dining room with solid walnut furniture, and galley kitchen, and an extra bathroom with shower for added convenience.
Upstairs there are 2 generously sized bedrooms, attractively frescoed and with tastefully matching bedcovers and furnishings, and a good sized marble bathroom with shower. With stunning views over the vald'elsa valley from the private garden, there is also a barbecue for alfresco dining in the rosy ambered meditteranean sunsets typcal of this part of tuscany.

The Tuscany region
The birthplace of the renaissance and originator of the italian language, Tuscany can offer visitors everything they could possibly wish for , for the perfect holiday; Numerous works of art close to hand, between Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Lucca; breathtaking views of the fabulous surrounding countryside with an all year round fortunately sunny aspect, wonderful sunsets when you can relax under the wisteria with an aperitivo and bathe in that rosy mediterranean light , so typical of this area.
Beach and ski resorts at just over an hour away, The magnificent tuscan cuisine cannot be ignored, and you can take the opportunity of savouring some specially prepared dishes in our delightfully restored typical restaurant L'Appalto, where we make full use of the fresh produce from our estate.
Florence / Castelfiorentino area
The closest village to Villa Rubbiano is Corazzano, at just 2 minutes by car,nwhich has a couple of well stocked alimentari , where as well as stocking up on your basics you can buy fresh locally baked bread and also have fresh panini made up for you for days out sightseeing.
Corazzano also has a bank and post office, as well as a barber and hairdresser and a good pharmacy. well worth seeing on your way out of the village is the "Pieve di san giovanni di Corazzano" a 12thcentury very beautiful church.
Corazzano as well as San Miniato, Certaldo, San Gimignano, and the nearby market towns of castelfiorentino and Montaione are all hives of activity in the autumn season with the many and varied "sagre" of food fairs celebrating the harvests of the new wines, olive oil and local specialities such as the truffle fair in San Miniato in November and the wine vendemmia in Montespertoli where you an enjoy with the locals a cheap and delicious slap up meal celebrating the local speciaities.
How to get there
Pisa airport is the closest at just 35 minutes, cheap airtickets can be bought online with www.ryanair. com, www,easyjet.com, or with british airways. Alternatively Florence airport is appx 45 minutes away, you can book tickets with meridiana.
Carhire is avaialable at both airports, try www.maggiore.com, www.europcar.com or www.hertz.com. From either airport, once in the car you need to get onto the FiPiLi superstrada and exit at Empoli ovest.

Further details outdoors: On arrival guests are also given a key to the cantina, where they can enter at will and purchase at a nominal price, the wines, olive oil, grappa, vinsanto and honey produced on the estate.
From the private garden, winding down terracotta pathways beween blooming rosebeds, guests are welcome to use the shared main pool, which is a good size for those who wish to have a"proper" swim, alternatively for those just wishing to cool off , there is the plunge pool , and for little ones a children pool.
Leading to casa Rita, our group dining suite where in the country kitchen, we can organise Tuscan cookery classes for groups of 10 or more, guests can also find a biliard table and grand piano, plus the gym directly behind and sauna.
In addition there is the laundry area where guests have full use of the washing machines , ironing boards etc
Further details
The apartment is available from 17.00 on the day of arrival and guests are requested to vacate within 10.30 on the morning of departure to allow us to prepare for the new arrivals
Please note that changeover day is saturday, and in peak season ( midmay to mid oct) we generally do not rent out for less than a week.
Conditions
A 30'% deposit is payable at booking by personal cheque, credit/debit card or bankers transfer. the balance of 70% The balance is payable 30 days before the period of the holiday rental. Payment again by personal cheque, credit card or bankers transfer.
in the case of cancellation, for the period up to the 30 days before the start of the holiday rental, the fee is the 30% deposit, for within the 30day period up to the holiday rental the full amount is payable. In the case the apartment is relet a 10% cancellation payment will be made.
A refundabel breakage deposit of 250 euros is to be made on arrival and will be returned on departure providing there have been no breakages
