Il Villino e le Scuderie Villi
Villa | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Lamole (at a height of 600 metres above s.l.) lies in the Chianti hills between Florence and Siena, and is a conglomeration of tiny medieval hamlets. All of the buildings have their own particular architecture, which is so simple, yet so natural, that they all seem to belong together. When you take the windy road lined with cypress trees up to Lamole, you pass famous villas, designed by prestigious architects such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo that distinguish themselves for their colours and forms. They don't give themselves airs when compared with the humbler dwellings around them, and yet they enrich the countryside around them. After the piazza at Lamole it is with some surprise that you come across 'Il Villino' a 19th century villa build by Poggi (the architect who at the end of the 1800s was given the difficult task of redesigning Florence). In the grounds of the villa, which was also designed by Poggi as an example of an italianate garden, you will find the other building, originating in the 18th century, called Le Scuderie. After the recent renovation, carried out with love by the owner, they have created a single, expanded home. In the evening, as you dine on the terraces that overlook the valley, it feels like sitting on the threshing-floor of an old tuscan farmhouse, where the families got together at the end of the day to rest, enjoying the cool air and the colours of the sunset, exchanging the news of the day and tales of the countryside under the clear, starlit sky that still sets you dreaming and expressing wishes to the falling stars on the night of San Lorenzo. In autumn and in the winter the stories continue to be told, but now they are spun in front of the logs burning in the fireplace. At times during the year you will be able to call on the help of the owner who will be living in a separate part of Il Villino. On request she will be available to organize lessons in the italian language, cooking and yoga lessons and wine tasting. Heating is only available in Le Scuderie. The pool is shared if the Le Scuderie and Villino are rented separately.

The Tuscany region
History, culture, natural beauty, crystal waters, dazzling beaches...and food to die for. Italy really does have it all. From Venice's architectural jewels in the north to Puglia's sun soaked olive growths in the south, there's something for everyone in this country of infinite variety.
Whether you choose to spend your time exploring the Adriatic Coast, with its white sands and dramatic promontories, or the gentle rolling hills of Umbria, where almost every view is reminiscent of a Renaissance painting, your time in Italy will be time well spent.
And let's not forget the Italian Lakes, whose serene and ageless splendour has beguiled visitors for centuries. As has the island charm and Sicily and Sardinia, two very different yet equally enchanting holiday destinations. Last, but by no means least, is there any other city on the planet that can match Rome for its combination of ancient history and cosmopolitan style?
Prepare to relax in the most enchanting surrounds you have ever seen...
The Italian countryside is the place to enjoy an authentic experience, to appreciate the real old traditional flavours, or just to watch life go slowly and peacefully by. The Tuscan hills, historical villages, cellars where you can taste some of the regions greatest wines. The world famous towns of Florence and Siena, as well as many other beautiful, well loved Tuscan towns like Pisa, Volterra and Montelpulciano all within a short drive.
The Chianti countryside, where you will find many of Tuscany's most charming locations, such as San Gimignano, has been a popular destination for international travellers for many years and we are delighted to welcome them all to our portfolio.
