Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
The apartment is found on the elevated ground floor in a prestigious Nineteenth-Century Palace built when Florence was the Capital, it consists of an entrance, large living room, separate kitchen, bathroom with shower, a small laundry room and in the large loft the bedroom's height reaches over 2 meters.
The apartment is approximately 60 square meters (645 square feet) besides its mezzanine floor, elegantly furnished and accessorized outstandingly, its high ceilings measure over 5 meters and Florentine tiles are used for the flooring. It comfortably hosts two people in its cosy king size bed on the mezzanine floor, it also has the possibility to host two more guests on a comfy sofa bed of 160 cm. located in the living room. The kitchen with its small dimensions has everything, a stove with four gas burners, electric oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer.
There is also internet WI-FI, a satellite TV, washing machine, iron and ironing board and independent heating.
On request for your guests there is one parking space of standard dimensions in the vicinity (€10/day) and the use free of bicycles (to be asked for when making the reservation).
The apartment is alongside the Lugarno Vespucci in a beautiful and peaceful street by the River Arno, in the historical centre of Florence (World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982). The location is very close to the centre but away from the busiest tourist areas in the district of Santa Maria Novella, 10 minutes from the train station and the historical city centre.
From here, with a quick and pleasant walk you are able to reach all of Florence's main attractions. In order to give you an idea of the apartments location it requires a 15 minute walk to get to the Ponte Vecchio, the Galleria degli Uffizi and Palazzo della Signoria, while 20 minutes for the Duomo.
On the other side of the Arno bridges you can reach the so-called “Oltrarno” area, which means beyond the river, from Santo Spirito to San Frediano, also known as the Artisan's quarter where you can find wood, mosaic, incision and gold workshop restaurateurs… and Via Maggio where some of the most famous Florentine Antique stores are.
The apartment is also close the Town Theatre and the park called the Cascine (where every Tuesday a market is held where items of every kind can be found, from clothing, linens and even food), and near Fortezza da Basso where the exhibitions are held.
In the Cascine Park you will find tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool and rollerblade rentals and the Hippodrome.
Being basically an all pedestrian park, it's the perfect place to walk, jog and bicycle ride. The bicycle path takes you long the Arno river and is approximately 14km/9 miles long and reaches the Renai Park, where during the summer it offers many aquatic activities.
In the vicinity you can find numerous services: supermarket, pharmacy and stores of all sorts close to via Borgognissanti, buses, metro with there direct connections to the train station of Santa Maria Novella (however, reachable with only 15 minutes by foot), bars, typical Florentine trattorias and restaurants of every ethnic group, cinemas, gyms, tennis courts, pools.
Florence and its outskirts often hold village fairs and gastronomic feasts and a variety of exhibitions, we are at your disposition for any type of information or suggestions in order to render your stay in Florence as pleasurable as possible.
The apartment being adjacent to ours, by request, we are available to cook typical Tuscan and Italian dishes for you, with the price to be determined depending on the menu.
We are a couple with a 14 years old son. We have always lived in Florence. We spend often our holidays with friends and we love to rent homes in the places where we go. We therefore know which are the important things to make sure that an apartment is cozy and so the holiday enjoyable.

The Tuscany region
From the Etruscans to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces.
Visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art, others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the simple yet wonderful cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, summer vacationers the sea coast and islands. Students come to learn the beautiful Italian language and culture.
There is a lot to see and do in Tuscany, the difficulty is really where to start. Certainly most should start with Florence, then continue on to Siena and Pisa. The roll call of città di arte, cities of art, is daunting: Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimignano and Lucca are all striking. The more you come to know the region, the more extraordinary Tuscany appears. Enjoy your visit!
Tuscany hosts innumerable astounding localities, many of which are also named UNESCO World Heritage Sites; of course, one must begin with Florence.
Famous all over the world, the ancient Signoria dei Medici is the preeminent cradle of culture and art. It is a true museum under the sky containing countless monuments, including the Duomo, with Giotto's Bell Tower; Santa Maria Novella; Palazzo Vecchio; and the Uffizi Gallery, with all its unique masterpieces.
The charm of Florence is also evident along the Arno River, on the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, and in the workshops of artisans that liven up the lanes of the old town.
