Home description

The house is situated in a quiet and suggestive, picturesque country spot named Galluzzo very near the city centre, about 1,5km, (ten minutes' walk) and also it is well served by bus to the city centre. It is very near Certosa di Firenze, Piazzale Michelangelo, Porta Romana, Poggio Imperiale, The Astrophysical Observatory of Arcetri. The apartments are set in typical country house.
One of them (LA MIMOSA) is at the ground floor and it is quite big: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen-living/dining room well furnished. It is quite warm in winter a cool in summer (sleeps 6).THE PHOTOS REFER TO THIS APARTMENT

The other apartment (LE ROSE) is at the first floor and it is composed of a big dining/living room and a kitchen corner, a big fireplace, two spacious bedrooms and a bathroom(sleep 4).NOT AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENTbecause of restoration There is a big garden with a parking area and open fields viewing on a typical Tuscany landscape.

To visit the area around Florence we suggest to hire a car, or a moto. Distances are bigger than you may think.By carFlorence is geographically located in the middle of Italy, the main highway A1 which connect Milan to Naples, pass through Florence. Depending on your destination, you can exit Florence north, Centre, Certosa or South.Personally, I suggest to go to Florence, by train because the parking is almost impossible, the main parking is Santa Maria Novella, under the train station and it cost 3,50 Euro/hour. Many days during the year the city centre is not reachable by car, because the police block the traffic for smog, so you can also be stopped along the road with your luggages and constrict to take a taxi. If your hotel is in the city centre and the parking is not included, it can cost up to 30 Euro/day. Think about itBy TrainDue to its location, Florence is considered one of the most important train station in Italy.All the fastest trains stop here, in 2006 will be possible to reach Milan or Rome (300 Km) in 1,30 hours with the new fast train. How to get there

Fly to Florence airport,then 20 minute(approx.It depends on the traffic.)drive to the house.
Pisa airport:60 minutes'drive (approx.).There is also an important train connection from Pisa airport to Florence ( a train every 30 minutes).
Bologna airport: 90 minute drive.
The most convenient airport is Florence:The airline Meridiana sometimes offers competitive prices. Ryanair only fly to Pisa as well as British Airways.
By train:take the train to Florence main station Santa Maria Novella, then from the station you can get to our house,located in via del podestà,75 by taxi (tel. number 0554242 or 0554798)
By bus:from the station and from the city centre you can get public transport routes n°11-36-37 and get off at the bus stop of "le due strade".

When you are in Florence Car is not necessary because the area where the house is located is well served by public transport (the bus stop to the city centre is at five minute walk from the house).

The apartment situated at the ground floor of the house has indipendent entrance.It is very spacious, about 120 square meters, and has recently been restored.Each room has cotto on the floor.There are three big double bedrooms with two single bed each,two bathrooms with shower cabin and a living/dining room with fully equipped kitchen corner with a table made of crystal and marble .It is very comfortable both in winter and summer.

From an external staircase made of old stone you go up to the apartment at the first floor which has an indipendent entrance and is quite big,about 100 square meters.It is composed of a living/dining room with a table made of crystal and wrought iron, a kitchen corner and a characteristic big fireplace and a sofa; two big double bedrooms with two single beds and a bathroom with a shower cabin.It is very cosy after the fashion of a typical old Tuscany country house.In fact in restoring it we have preserved the old cotto tiles on the floor.

The house is very near some of the beautiful landmarks of Florence:Piazzale Michelangelo,the astrophysical observatory of Arcetri,Poggio Imperiale,Porta Romana, La Certosa di Firenze Pian dei Giullari. Motorway A 1 Firenze Certosa and the Autopalio Firenze-Siena are easily reacheable from the house (about 6 Km).
