Equipped with modern facilities, including dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning in the main bedroom, wi-fi internet everywhere, a stereo with ipod connection, 37" flatscreen tv.

S.Maria Novella is famous not only for the lovely Renaissance square, and for the Pharmacy that bears the name, but also for the proximity to San Lorenzo market, a delight for foodies and everyday shoppers, where you can find any kind of foods, from fresh produce to local cheeses, sauces, fresh pasta, truffle oils, exquisite breads, meats, fish and seafood. It's conveniently close to the station and few minutes' walk to the Duomo and the river.

During your stay, do not miss the beautiful S. Maria Novella Church, one of the most important achievements of the Florentine Renaissance. Inside you will find works by Giotto, Ghirlandaio, Masaccio. Ghirlandaio was Michelangelo's teacher in fresco painting. In S. Maria Novella Michelangelo painted his first fresco as a teenager.

The MEDICI CHAPEL right near the S. Lorenzo Market is famous for some of Michelangelo's sculptures.

The ANTICA PROFUMERIA S. MARIA NOVELLA, about 30 metres to the left, on the other side of the road, is not only famous for its heavenly perfumes and soaps and beauty products but also for the beauty of its interiors, the herbal and essence museum, and the lovely cloister. Initially opened by monks in the 1600s.

The OGNISSANTI church, with its white baroque façade, contains works of Ghirlandaio and Botticelli (who is buried here).

In piazza S. Pancrazio, the MARINO MARINI museum, dedicated to the sculptor who gave it its name, holds exhibits of contemporary art, currently a contemporary jewellery exhibit (till July 20th).

The ALINARI NATIONAL MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY in piazza S. Maria Novella holds historical and contemporary photography exhibitions. It's located in an ex convent (Leopoldine) where Leonardo da Vinci made the drawing titled Burlington cartoon which now stands in a room of its own in the National gallery in London.

The PALAZZO STROZZI is known for major art exhibitions and also cutting-edge contemporary shows in the Strozzina gallery. Every second thursday of the month at 7:30 pm, aperitivo, live music and art events, discounted tickets for shows, open until 11 pm.

"unique, spacious apartment in a very central location.. loved it"

I travelled with 2 friends, we wanted a bedroom each, which the apartment could accommodate. There is masses of space, so if you are away for a week or so you can escape each other quite easily. The apartment is at the back of the building away from the main road so it was quiet at night. It had pretty much everything we needed and more . It is quite uniquely furnished which certainly gave it the wow factor. I've rented apartments in a number of cities for holidays, and this one I will certainly remember above the others.
The owners Peter and Julie lived upstairs, they met us and showed us around and were really helpful if we had any questions. We had a great week all-round.
