Only one mile from Porta Romana, a historical gate into Florence, this typical Florentine villa is situated on the hill of "Poggio Imperiale" in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by olive groves, gardens and fruit trees. Its garden looks out onto the beautiful Florentine hillside including the Arcetri observatory where Galileo Galilei continued his astronomical research after being called to Florence in 1610 by Cosimo II dei Medici.
The Villa has recently been fully remodeled and restored.This careful restoration has created a very special ambiance: elegant, cozy and appealing.
The historical district of the city of Florence is only about one mile away. The city centre is easily accessible either by bus, taxi or rental car. World renowned Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi museum are only 3 km (1.9 miles) away, the main train station and Piazza Del Duomo (the “heart” of the city centre) only 4 km (2.4 miles) away. The nearest bus station is only about 0.4 miles away as well as a few groceries stores, and restaurants. Villa La Fonte is an ideal location for visiting Florence, but also convenient to Chianti and Siena ( approximately 40 minutes by car ), as well as to Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo ( approximately 60 minutes on the autostrada ) Distance to Florence "Peretola" Airport: 20 minutes. Distance to Main train station "Santa Maria Novella": 6 minutes.
The villa comes with two setups available for rent. The first setup, (for up to 6 guests), features: 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (of which one with attached walk-in closet), living room with new 32" lcd tv, dining room, fully furnished kitchen, private garden with table and outdoors furniture, small laundry room, gated parking, and private swimming pool.
The second setup,(for up to 8 guests), features: 4 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, 2 dining rooms (one per floor), 2 kitchens (one per floor), private garden with table and outdoors furniture, small laundry room, gated parking and private swimming pool.
Prices are all inclusive: 2 hrs. of housekeeping 5 times a week, 3 weekly towel changes, 1 weekly linen change, wi-fi internet connection, satellite tv, air conditioning, private swimming pool, final cleaning, gated parking.
