Home description

The house is on a characteristic old street leading from the Arno river and is well lit by five windows. The position is ideal for visiting churches, museum and the historical centre just on foot. It has every thing you need to have a comfortable and quiet stay. The neighbourhood includes many nice shops, good restaurants and Internet cafe (with WiFi). The service includes full information on the apartment, the neighbourhood, Uffizi and Accademia booking, and links to useful websites, (extra) cleaning/laundry service

The Tuscany region

A week in Florence may include one or two excursions to historical cities like Siena (by coach), Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo (by rail). Other towns and villages like San Gimignano as well as all the Chianti area are reachable by car. There is a car-rental (Maggiore) an hundred meters distance from the apartment.

Florence / Central Florence area

The most of tourists coming to Florence underestimate the artistic and historical capital of Florence and come back saying "so many things in too short time".
There are some milestones as Galleria degli Uffizi and Accademia, Duomo Cathedral. Other pearls like Santa Croce Cathedral (1100 dc, very close to the apartment), Palazzo Pitti and the famous Boboli garden, Piazzale Michelangelo with its splendid view on Florence (easily reachable on foot from the apartment), the Etrurian museum, Medici Chapel, Palazzo Vecchio, Ponte Vecchio. The list would be long.
After a walking and visiting day enjoy the comfort of the apartment and its full equipped kitchen in its quiet area or take a walk to the lovely restaurants and taverne in the surrounding, take an icecream from the famous Vivoli, and taste some good wines in local bars and pubs.
Try to find the time to go up Fiesole, Etrurian town founded before Florence and mastering the city from the top of the nearby hill, with its roman theatre and San Francesco church.

- by air: Amerigo Vespucci (Florentine) Airport by taxi (25 minutes); from Galileo Galilei (Pisa) Airport (Low cost flights) by direct rail to S.M. Novella Central Station
- by rail: from S.M. Novella Central Station by taxi (5 minutes)
- by car: from motorway A1 exit Firenze Sud, cross the Arno river then turn right toward Centre -> Piazza Beccaria payment car park

You have a perfect place for anyone who does not want to drive, as every important historical place is within walking distance. The apartment met our initial expectations. We went away frequently for day trips and took three day weekend to Cinque Terre. We went to Lucca, Orvieto, Pisa, Viareggio and Venice. It was so easy to get to anywhere from railway station which was close to your apartment. Thank you for every thing.
