About the home

Lamberti is one of our Florence city centre flats to let. It is bright,well furnished and located right in the heart of Florence on Via dei Lamberti. This studio flat to let is just 200 metres from Piazza Signoria and the Duomo and is ideal for a short break.

This studio apartment (50sqm) has one bedroom and one bathroom and it can accomodate 3 people. As you enter, you will find: the kitchenette beautifully decorated with coloured tiles and fitted with a practical extendable dining table, the living room with a pull out sofa (135 cm), a bathroom with shower, the bedroom area, consisting of a double bed and a small fitted wardrobe. Floors are in “cotto fiorentino”.

Pricing Information:
The prices are all inclusive of utilities till 30 days and condominium expenses with the exception of the final cleaning at the cost of 60,00 euros to be paid at Check In.
For rentals of 30 days or more the utility bills (Gas, Water, Electricity) are charged based on meter readings taken at Check In/Out
Not included from November to March: € 30,00 per week for heating.
N.B For rentals of over 30 days all clients must sign an Italian Rental Contract which is obligatory under Italian law and the cost is equal to 1% of the total rental fee, plus 30,00 Euro of stamps.

Security Deposit:
On arrival guests will be required to provide credit card details as a guarantee for the security deposit for the following amounts:
- For rentals of 14 days or less: 1000€
- For rentals of 15 days or more: 2000€
- For rentals of 60 days or more the deposit shall be equal to 2 month’s rent.

The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

Tuscany is considered one of the most beautiful regions in Italy with stunning scenery, outstanding food and beautiful cities full of art, history and architecture and for that reason many Tuscan towns have become UNESCO protected sites: the main square in Florence, Siena, the Piazza dei Miracoli at Pisa, San Gimignano, the historical centre of Pienza and also the Val d'Orcia. Tuscany is also considered the birthplace of the Renaissance and is also the birthplace of many famous Italian artists, painters, sculptors, musicians such Dante Alighieri ("the father of the Italian language"), Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei and Botticelli and that’s to name just a few.

The gently rolling Tuscan hills are lined with cypress trees and bathed in vineyards and olive groves which leave everyone who comes here with very special memories indeed. Tuscany has so many attractions and towns worth visiting that you would need to spend months to really appreciate everything there is to see and do here.

We recommend guests to visit Pisa with its leaning tower, Livorno and the Maremma coast for its spectacular beaches and landscape, Siena with its Piazza del Campo, Volterra and San Gimignano, smaller medieval villages but with lots of character and famous for its original medieval towers, Certaldo, the birthplace of Boccaccio and also Montecatini with its renowned spa offering curative waters and beauty treatments.

As you can see Tuscany has so much to offer no matter what your likes, hobbies and interest. For those who enjoy walking, biking and horse riding the options are endless. Other attractions include skiing at the Abetone ski resort which is just an hour and a half away from Florence, and the widely acclaimed Tyrrhenean beaches (between Viareggio, Pisa, Livorno and Grossetto) just over an hour away.

Last but not least is the Chianti. Nestled between the towns of Siena and Florence the Chianti region has become famous on an international level for its stunning hilly landscape covered in vineyards, cypress trees, hilltop hamlets and winding roads, and breathtaking vistas. A visit to Chianti gives access to an endless source to culture, architecture, scenery and many other attractions. Chianti is also internationally well known for its wine, Il Chianti Classico, olive oil and exceptional cuisine. Visiting the Chianti is a must for anyone coming to Italy! When in the Chianti land stop at Greve in Chianti, buy your local wine and stop off for a pannini at “Da Emilio” – the best sandwich/delicatessen store ever known to exist. When at Panzano in Chianti visit the famous macellaio – butcher “Dario Cecchini”. He also has a restaurant open for lunch and dinner (www.dariocecchini.com). Great steaks, meat anything you want. The meat he uses comes from animals specifically raised for him alone).

Furthermore, just 40 minutes from Florence you will find the Mall shopping outlet http://www.themall.it/en/ - a gallery of the world’s most exclusive designers available at bargain prices offering customers a very unique shopping experience.

The Florence area

Florence is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, the artistic and cultural wakening of the 15th century. Writers such as Dante, Petrarch and Machiavelli, but especially sculptors and artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Donatello, transformed the city into one of the most important cities for art. The historic centre unravels around the Piazza del Duomo, and is distinguished by its small streets and alleyways, where you can happily lose yourself admiring the endless marvels of the city and its historical neighbourhoods: Duomo, Oltrarno and Santa Croce.
The Duomo neighbourhood is dominated by the beauty and the majesty of the Santa Maria del Fiore church (the Duomo of Florence), by Brunelleschi’s famous cupola and Giotto’s belltower. The main points of interest are: in the square (aside from the Duomo) the Baptistry, Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, the Accademia, the Medici Chapels and the Church of San Lorenzo. There are also the famous shopping quarters (around Via Tornabuoni, Via Calzaiuoli and Via Vigna Nuova) where you will find all the top Italian and international fashion designers such as Gucci, Prada, Bulgari, Tiffany’s, Armani, Roberto Cavalli and Versace.
In the Oltrarno Florence’s magnificent past is still alive today, not only through the historical and artistic evidence, but also through daily life, with the original artisan studios and shops that maintain the characteristic feel of this part of the city. Walk along the beautiful narrow cobble-stone streets and be amazed at how many monuments, churches, parks, museums there are to visit. Choose between the Palazzo Pitti, Santo Spirito, Ponte Vecchio, the Boboli Gardens and so much more. The area is famous for its antique shops, mosaic workshops, carpenters and goldsmiths as well a local trattoria serving good food and wine. Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace and when you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Spend a day at the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte just beyond Piazzale Michelangelo to experience an enchanting view of Florence.

The heart of the Santa Croce neighbourhood is represented in the beautiful Church that looks on to Piazza of the same name, an important destination for every visit to Florence, above all during the Florentine Calcio Storico event. The area extends to the famous Uffizi Gallery, which holds many artistic masterpieces. Not too far from the Ponte Vecchio, lined with goldsmiths’ boutiques, the symbol of the city in Italy and throughout the world.
There are also many restaurants, trattorie and osterie whose traditional Florentine cuisine will delight your palate as do the great wines of this amazing land! We suggest dining at Perseus, I Latini, La Giostra, Buca Mario, Cibreo, Il Santo Bevitore….For wine tasting and other “speciality” delicacies visit Olio & Convivium.

Some of the most important historical and cultural events in and around Florence

Scoppio del Carro (Explosion of the Cart)- Easter Sunday, at noon a dove descends on a wire from the high altar of the cathedral and starts a large firework display from a cart
Festa del Grillo (Cricket Festival)- this festival takes place on the Sunday after Ascension day in Cascine Park and stallholders sell crickets in tiny woven straw cages, which are traditionally released by their new owners in the park for good luck.

Calcio in Costume (Football in Costume) - is basically a costumed football game played on the 16th, 24th and 30th of June and commemorates the famous match of 1530 and is till today played by men in 15th century costumes.

Festa di San Giovanni (St. Johns) - San Giovanni is Florence’s patron saint and is celebrated on 24th June. The festival ends with a big fireworks display.
Palio di Siena - 2nd July and 16th August, this is one of Tuscany's most famous events in the Campo at Siena. It is a bareback horse race watched by thousands of people.

Festa della Rificolona (Festival of the Lanterns) – takes place on 7th September. Children from all over the area converge at the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, carrying candlelit paper lanterns to honour the eve of the birth of the Virgin Mary.

Getting to Florence is very easy and also fairly inexpensive. Florence has are two international airports. One is on the north side of Florence, the Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) which is just a 20 minute taxi or bus ride into the city centre and the other is in Pisa, the Galileo Galilei Airport (PSA) which is approximately 80 km. from Florence and which has regular train and bus connections to Florence (Santa Maria Novella). You will find many of the low cost airlines such as Ryanair, EasyJet, AirOne, Jet2 fly direct to Pisa and all the major companies such as Alitalia, Meridiana, Lufthansa, British Airways fly direct to Florence from London, Frankfurt, Paris, Monaco, Barcelona and many more European cities.

There are shuttle buses connecting Florence airport and Florence train station (Santa Maria Novella – S.M.N) with departures about every half hour. You can choose between two companies - “Terravision” or “Vola in Bus”. The “Vola in Bus” service is run by the local Florence bus company and tickets cost around 5 euros. The journey takes about 30 minutes. You can also catch a taxi to Florence and the trip costs around 20 euros depending on how much luggage you have.

From Pisa airport to Florence train station (Santa Maria Novella – S.M.N) there is a regular and inexpensive train service. Pricing and timetables can be found on www.trenitalia.com the Italian railway company’s officiale “Trenitalia”. The journey takes just over 1 hour. From Florence train station we recommend you getting a taxi to the property.

For all arrivals after 7:00 pm an extra charge in cash is to be paid.

We try to be as flexible as possible with Check in and Check Out times. If you arrive in the morning we will try and arrange a Check In for you as soon as we can. If you depart in the early afternoon then we will try and allow you to stay in the apartment as long as possible to accommodate all your needs. Obviously this is not possible all the time! If you need to leave your luggage somewhere while you wait then we can offer this service weekdays at the office.

Cancellation Policy:

Whenever the contract proposal is revoked after it has been accepted, the following penalties will apply:

- 20% if cancellation is made more than 45 days before the beginning of the letting period

- 50% if cancellation is made between 45 and 31 days before the beginning of the letting period

- 90% if cancellation is made between 30 and 6 days before the beginning of the letting period

- 100% if it’s made 5 days before letting period.
