About the home

This apartment has been fully refurbished during the summer 2010 and it is now extremely comfortable and modern with an efficient heating system, air conditioning system and all new kitchen and bathroom.

Everyone knows that Florence is a city with a great deal to offer and this apartment is ideally located in a quiet neighbourhood from which the centre can be reached within minutes. However, it has the unique advantage of offering the resident close proximity to walks along narrow tree lined lanes flanked by fine historical villas set in their own expansive grounds and gardens. The European University is just a short walk away along country lanes.

The apartment is made up of a kitchen with all new quality appliances. The bright kitchen gives access to a terrace with electric awning over and which overlooks a peaceful garden. The main bedroom is very spacious and has a king size bed with new mattresses and a double window looking onto the external terrace at the rear of the building. Next to the bedroom is a large lounge with dining area and separate sitting area. This room faces the road and has a convertible sofa bed and there is a circular dining table which can be extended to seat 8. There are dining and easy chairs and a a large flat screen TV, DVD player and radio. The second bedroom is also a double but currently equipped with a single bed and has a walk-in closet. A spacious airy entrance hall leads to all rooms.

The apartment is located in a peaceful residential area just a short walk from the centre of downtown Florence but with easy access to buses and shops. The well maintained building in which the apartment is situated is in the area of Florence known as “Le Cure” which is well known for it’s daily market in the main piazza which also has many convenient shops, bars, banks, restaurants and facilities needed by residents and visitors alike. This area is considered very elegant and fashionable with its trees and green zones and there are lovely walks up to historical San Domenico and Fiesole. The apartment is a short walk from the European University and there is easy access to the centre of Florence.

The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

Florence is a great place to stay to enjoy both the pleasures and history of this City of Art and also as a base from which to visit Siena, San Gimignano, the Chianti area and the famous towns of Pisa and Lucca. In the Mugello area north of Florence there is the formula one race track in Scarperia.

The Florence area

The Piazza delle Cure is a short stroll from the apartment where 1A and 1B buses leave for the centre of Florence for those who prefer not to go on foot. The Le Cure market is open every morning except Sunday and there you find local farmers selling their crops of fresh fruit and vegetables. Alongside there are stalls with vendors selling clothes and shoes, household items and many other articles.

The city has numerous art galleries, famous buildings and works of art which are too numerous to mention here. The city is also a great centre of fashion and has many fine shops and the great fashion Outlets of The Mall and Barberino are nearby.

“Wondeful!” I agree with the previous reviews; the apartment served us perfectly, everything works well, wonderful location and I slept better in this apartment than I sleep at home. Today is my last day after staying here for 1 month and I am extremely sad to depart. I went to our corner bar for my last cappuccino, had a warm and interesting conversation with the Florentine clients in my broken Italian and one of the clients paid for my capuccino. It was a nice departure after getting to know this wonderful neighborhood in Florence which can seem overwhelming with so many tourists. If you want to begin to really understand the Florentine lifestyle, this apartment is your first step. Already planning my return to this apartment!

“All that was expected of a Florence apartment and far far more.” My stay in Florence was both comfortable and enjoyable the apartment was in very good condition and in an outstanding area, I was made to feel welcome locally and found this to be a very pleasant stay. My wife and myself hope to revisit in the future.
