About the home
This enchanting, one room apartment is located on the second floor of the building which is served by an elevator. It's name is due to the grand, 19th century fireplace in dark pink marble that gives a touch of imposing elegance and, along with original 16th century prints lining the long entry corridor and other works adorning the walls, make the apartment welcoming and harmonious. A few steps up, the bedroom on a spacious loft overlooks the living room with its large antique crystal chandelier. The beige marble bath offers a very luxurious personal care area which includes a tub with curtain for shower and a washing machine. A small, but well-equipped, hidden kitchenette permits preparation of a snack, tea or breakfast.
Small in size, but with much attention to detail, with precious curtains and antique oriental rugs, the "Caminetto" is ideal for a romantic getaway of a few days or for a longer stay perhaps dedicated to art, painting or architecture. It is also perfect for the business executive who needs a pied-à-terre in Florence.
When available, the "Caminetto" apartment can be connected directly to the Cupola apartment, for long or short term stays for large families or groups of friends.

The Tuscany / Firenze Province region

Tuscany is considered one of the most beautiful regions of Italy with stunning scenery, outstanding food and cities full of art, history and architecture. The Tuscan countryside is really lovely with its rounded hills covered in vinyards and olive groves. You can spend a day in the Chianti Area tasting wine at the vinyards or choosing oil from an olive farm, and have a typical Tuscan lunch in some little village while admiring the landscape.
There are many daily visits you can make to cities like Pisa with its leaning tower, Siena with its Piazza del Campo, Arezzo a little Medieval town with an antique fair once a month, or to smaller villages like San Gimignano, famous for its original towers, and Montecatini with its renowned spa offering curative waters and beauty treatments.
Tuscany is ideal for walks or bike trips which you'll be able to take in the woods or the open countryside. Other attractions include the Abetone ski resort, just an hour and a half away from Florence, and the widely acclaimed Tyrrhenean beaches just an hour away, with the social scene of their renowned locales.
The Florence / Central Florence area
Florence is known as the "Cradle of the Renaissance" with its historical centre enriched by beautiful architecture which has remained intact for over five centuries. Its cultural patrimony continues to attract millions of tourists each year and it was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1982.
Everything in town is within walking distance, especially thanks to the position of our apartment, which is just 5 minutes away from the town's Cathedral, S. Maria del Fiore, with its spectacular Dome by Filippo Brunelleschi. This is the real centre of the city, and an excellent starting point for any visit.

This apartment, located just two blocks from the Duomo, was a perfect location for walking all over Florence. The decor was lovely, although the carpet was dirty. The kitchen lacked basic utensils, such as a cheese grater. Otherwise, no complaints. Response: Thanks very much for your review. We appreciate your taking the time to comment. Since you mentioned the items listed in the review during check-out, we immediately checked the kitchen equipment and replaced items that were missing and have already contracted with our usual company to clean the carpet. |
