About the home

Unique, historical and very chic.

Originally a private chapel of a famous Renaissance family, the Chapel has recently been carefully restored to its original state and retains its original beauty and charm.

It is situated in a protected and peaceful area of more than 20 hectares, just outside of the centre of Florence, at the foot of the hill of Settignano, in a marvellous environment, surrounded by meadows and olive groves.

The interior is about 50mq, fully decorated with antique furniture and has a wonderful atmosphere. There is one double bedroom located in the chapel's original nave decorated with original frescoes, a living room in the former sacristy, and one bathroom with shower.

Particularly suitable for a couple looking for a refined cultural experience and who want to stay in a unique historic place. Can accommodate 2/4 people. Parking, utilities, internet wireless access included in the price.

If you travel by car the villa's location at the south-eastern edge of Florence is a good starting point for going on excursions to the Chianti region, to Siena or to the coast, as the feeder road to the autostrada highway (exit Firenze-Sud) is only 3 km distant and can be reached easily without having to pass through the city centre.

The Florence / Central Florence area

Here you live in a green resort, far away from the bustle of the city with its humming motorbikes and honking cars. While the location is far from disturbance, it is only a short bus ride into the city.

All museums are within easy reach, as are the nearby small towns of Fiesole and Settignano. The hill of Settignano, just behind the estate, preserves some of the most attractive Florentine villas. Wonderful walks lead towards Settignano, Corbignano and, through of wood of cypresses, as so far as Fiesole.

It was in these hills designed by man that Giovanni Boccaccio, Desiderio da Settignano, Bernardo and Antonio Rossellino, Michelangelo, Leigh Hunt, Charles Armitage Brown, Janet Ross, Edward Hutton, Mark Twain, Niccolò Tommaseo, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Bernardo Barenson and many others found their inspiration.

“In Florence but like being in the country” A small chapel, part of a large villa, converted into an apartment. Charming and beautifully furnished, although small and therefore a bit basic in some things. Beautiful grounds of the estate to walk in - you would scarcely realise that you are only a few km from central Florence except that you can see the duomo from near the front door. Only a 7 minute walk to the bus stop and 15-20 minutes by bus to the city. An excellent choice to stay.
