Our apartment features an open plan living and dining area and a modern, well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. The bedrooms are air-conditioned so a good nights sleep is guaranteed even in the hottest weather and the master bedroom has an en suite shower room. Sheets and towels are provided for our guests. Satellite television is provided for our guests. Our apartment is one of 36 on the small complex which benefits from 2 swimming pools (one of which includes a children's pool and is only a few paces from the front door!). It is only a 5 minute walk from the renowned Flic en Flac beach as well as all local facilities including supermarkets, banks, pharmacy, taxi rank and a selection of restaurants. The complex has 24 hour security and there is a secure parking place available.

The cost of living in Mauritius is extremely low (provided you avoid the big hotels) which means an apartment holiday is a cost effective way of holidaying in Mauritius. Air fares are typically around £530 - £630 outside school holidays, and up to £800 for peak summer holiday and Christmas periods. Your spending money will go a very long way in Mauritius, making the cost of a holiday in paradise with uncrowded beaches, a different holiday experience, friendly locals and a comfortable, spacious 2 bed apartment little more than a break in Europe (especially for those impacted by the fall in the value of the pound!!!

The Mauritius West Coast/Flic en Flac region

Mauritius is a small island - only 50 miles by 35!! The West Coast is an ideal place to stay as it is the sunniest and driest on the island and therefore excellent for a lazy beach holiday. However, it is still a good base from which to explore further afield. The West Coast itself has long stretches of fine white sand, which give way to fields of sugar cane further inland and eventually the central mountains and plateaux.

A holiday can be enjoyed in Mauritius at any time of the year. The island has two main seasons, summer from October to April and Winter from May to October. In winter, the weather is hotter (30 degrees plus) but more humid. The weather is generally sunny over the island and rain tends to fall in short, very intensive bursts. In winter, temperatures are cooler (generally 24 - 27 degrees), there is less humidity but a greater risk of cloudy weather. The North and West coasts are are the sunniest and driest areas of the island, while the South, East and Central areas experience more rainfall.

Flic-en-Flac area

Flic en Flac public beach is only a 5 minute walk from the property and is a long stretch of fine white sand backed by shady filao trees. The beach is ideal for children as it slopes gently into the warm Indian Ocean. The sunsets are particularly beautiful from the beach. Within Flic en Flac are all requirements for a self catering holiday (shops, restaurants, taxi rank, pharmacy, bank). Many activities can be arranged locally including trips to points of interest across the island. Of particularly interest are trips to see the dolphins in neighbouring Tamarin Bay, visits to the Hindu Holy Site of Grand Bassin in the Southern Mountains, trips to Casela Park which is a zoo with examples of local Mauritian wildlife (and some animals from further afield!!) and lots of activities for children and the unforgettable Ile aux Cerfs on the East Coast. Car hire can be arranged for those who want to explore themselves or taxis can be rented for the day (with driver!). Excursions are also available by coach / boat via the Flic-en-Flace tourist agency located in the village.

How to get there

Mauritius airport is located in the South of the island and is called "Sir Seewosugar Ramgoolam (SSR) International Airport" but is known locally as "Plaisance". Flights to Mauritius are available on scheduled airlines from Europe, South Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, the Far East and neighbouring islands. The best deals can be found using internet search engines.

Our apartment is approximiately 45 minutes by taxi / car from Mauritius International Airport. We can pre-book taxi transfers for you.

The apartment is tastefully furnished with locally hand-made rattan furniture. The dining area has a glass topped table and seats six. The living area is comfortable, seats six and satellite television is available. The master bedroom has a double bed, an en-suite shower room and plenty of storage space. The second bedroom is equipped with twin beds. Both bedrooms are air conditioned which affords for a comfortable nights sleep! For larger parties, a double sofa bed is available in the living area. In addition, a cot is available for babies and young children.

Deposit 25% on reservation, full payment 8 weeks before arrival.

Prices quoted are for up to 4 people. For over 4 people, please add an extra £5 per night to the quoted prices

Security deposit of 5,000 Rupees is payable on arrival at the apartment. This will be repaid on departure subject to the apartment being left in an appropriate condition and there being no breakages.

Maid services is provided three times per week. Bedsheets will be changed twice weekly and towels three times per week.
