Lou Cantoun is a spacious and welcoming family house located 2 miles from the lively 11th Century hilltop village of Flayosc. Situated in a secluded but not isolated location, it is ideally placed for exploring the immediate Haut Var area and beyond - Nice, the Riviera Coast and Aix en Provence can all be reached in about an hour.

The villa’s extensive open plan living area is light, cool and airy. Accommodating up to 8 people, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The 10 x 5 meter, heated salt water pool is child friendly.

Just five minutes walk away is a large 25 metre pool also available to the residents of Lou Cantoun. A mature and well maintained garden surrounds the property and offers the perfect retreat for extended families.

Ground floor - Entrance with cloaks/WC, desk, telephone & internet access. Leading to an extensive open plan living area - approximately 1500 sq meter, with satellite TV, DVD, CD, VCR player. A well equipped kitchen leading to dining terrace and garden. One bedroom with 4' 6" double bed, French doors to garden, own bathroom (bath/shower, hand basin & WC).

First floor - Large master bedroom suite, 5 ft bed, TV, en-suite bathroom (large shower, double wash basins and WC). Suite of 2 bedrooms, one with 5ft bed other with twin beds, bathroom (bath/shower, basin and WC). All upstairs bedrooms are air conditioned.

Lou Cantoun is a secluded but not isolated family house, spacious, comfortable and well furnished with 4 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms plus extra WC set within attractive and well kept gardens just 2 miles from the medieval hilltop village of Flayosc. Here in the village you will find 3 bakers, butcher, fishmonger, mini supermarket, newsagent and several specialist shops. Additionally there are 3 very good restaurants in the village as well as cafes and bars. Also of interest are the many colourful markets held in the various nearby towns and villages (Flayosc has a Monday market). In the house you will find a list of the days of these various weekly markets.

The heated salt water swimming pool is very child friendly with its full width wide gentle steps and by keeping the specially placed gates closed, young children cannot access the pool area from the house or garden.

Further details

A £500 deposit is required to secure the reservation of the property, then the balance of the rental cost is due 4 weeks before the commencement of the holiday. Also at the time of this payment, we require a further £500 security deposit against serious damages or significant loss of items from the house. Invariably, this deposit is returned in full within one week of the end of the rental period.

The Provence region

The Côte d'Azur, often known in English as the French Riviera, is the Mediterranean coastline of the south eastern corner of France, extending from Menton near the Italian border in the east to either Hyères or Cassis in the west. This coastline was one of the first modern resort areas.

The French Riviera also contains the seaside resorts of Cannes, Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Cap-d'Ail, Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël, and Saint-Tropez, and surrounds the principality of Monaco.

Flayosc

Flayosc is a lively village with an excellent range of shops: bakers, butchers, fish mongers, greengrocers, 2 mini supermarkets, chemist, hairdressers, laundry, gift shops as well as a handful of specialist shops. There are several good restaurants and cafes. You can purchase local wine from the village wine co-operative as well as award winning olive oil from the age-old olive mill. An English speaking doctor has a walk-in surgery in the village and there is an excellent modern hospital at Draguignan 5 miles away.

On Monday, there is a small market in the village square and there are several large markets on other days in nearby villages - a list of these is displayed in the house. Most Sundays, you can find a Brocante/Flea market in one or other of the local villages, during the summer months there are many art exhibitions and concerts to enjoy.

Further afield going south you are just 30-40 minutes drive from the Mediterranean - St Maxime, St Tropez, Frijus, St Raphael and Cannes. Heading north you will find Europe's Grand Canyon (Gordes Verdon) which is great for picnics, sailing, or a leisurely pedaloe up the beautiful gorge.

"A relaxing retreat, home from home"

A beautiful house off the main road. If a quiet holiday with friends and family is what you are after then this is the place for you.

The owner is very friendly and amenable, which made for a thoroughly relaxing stay.

Easily accessible by car to the most fabulous lake for a chilled day of swimming and sunbathing and perfect for children of all ages.

Would definitely recommend this property.
