"Excellent Location, Excellent Hosts, Very easy to deal with and contact"

I stayed at this location for about 2 weeks, We are a family with 3 children. We started off with a bit of a snag, when we arrived the place was not cleaned yet and Sooey was not there. There must have been a communication error somewhere between her and Tormod but she quickly came and things were perfect after that. Tormod was on google chat which made things easier, he answered all emails in a timely manner. Sooey was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Ajoupa 3 is one of a few townhomes in a very small community. Ajoupa3 was very clean, had a functional washer and dryer, all air conditioners worked well and had multiple ceiling fans. They provided you with a cellphone that you charged. The bathroom, under the bed, inside the cabinets etc were all clean. There was a nice selection of dishes, pot, pans etc to use. This really helped us since we had 3 children. There is a small dining area, 4 chairs. They provided a little bucket and a shovel for the kids. There were beach chairs and patio chairs too. The hot water was very hot and worked, everything worked well. There is a lot of dresser space too. There was not much to complain about.

The location is a very short walk to a beautiful nice beach. I loved the location more than anything. You are surrounded by locals. At first I was a bit worried since the area is not gated and I was surrounded by locals but you quickly realize they are so friendly and kind. Walking to the beach everyone was very very friendly. My wife and daughters would walk around the neighborhood and meet the local families, very very nice people.

There is a supermarket a short walk away, we would shop there every night. There is a local italian restaurant on the water, we stopped there one night but did not eat there. We had a car but local transportation is a block away. You really cannot ask for much more. This is not a 5 star resort but if you are looking for a clean, safe place to stay in Barbados, close to the beaches, close to transportation and a supermarket you will be happy here. I would highly recommend Ajoupa3 for families or extended stay.

My wife slipped in the bathroom and damaged the shower curtain. I was expecting to have to pay for that but was very glad when I was not charged. That being said I will make sure and take something nice back from the US when I visit Sooey and Tormod again.

Ajoupa3 is very peaceful, the trees grow past the 2nd balcony. Very nice views. Small balcony but nice. There are a number of cats in the area that stop by to visit, they are friendly and the kids will love them. My daughters took over 100 pictures of the gray one! As mentioned before the Ajoupas are a number of townhouses. We met some of the nicest people and families staying in the Ajoupas. No one was loud, everyone respected each other. We had some great conversation. It really was a pleasant time there.

There are a few small items. The ceilings on the 2nd floor are joined somehow so you may hear each other without the AC on. If the AC is on, you don't have to worry. The TV is a bit small but it did not bother us since we were out most of the time. I would suggest to them to make sure all the windows have screens. A few in the living room did not, it was not a big deal but we liked to open the windows rather than using the AC, if the screens were in place, you would save a lot more in electricity. As homeowners ourselves we were very mindful of the use of the air conditioning, shutting it off when leaving etc and making sure no lights were left on. One item I would suggest getting is internet access. It was very hard without internet access. Even if I could have paid extra for it, I would have. It is so important nowadays to have internet access. Even if a few of the townhomes install a wireless router and share the WEP Key with all guests.

I almost did not want to write this review being selfish! I know a good review might generate more business and when I am ready to go back again it may be booked but the truth is the truth. Ajoupa 3, Sooey and Tormod were pleasure to deal with. We all enjoyed our stay there very much and will be returning in the future.
