The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire's attraction is its peace and tranquillity which has a hypnotic effect on visitors who return year after year, if not more frequently. The coastline and villages have changed very little over the centuries.
The superb sandy beaches and quiet coves, once the haunt of smugglers, are around every twist and turn of the coastal lanes. Both on the coast and in the Preseli hills there is a profusion of beautiful wild flowers, encouraged by the mild climate, high sunshine hours and influenced by the Gulf Stream. Pembrokeshire is a haven for nature lovers with foxes, badgers and birds too numerous to mention literally on your doorstep.
Fishguard / Jordanston area
Fishguard is a picturesque little town set in north Pembrokeshire, along the west coast of Wales. It is a main ferry link between Pembrokeshire and Rosslare Ireland. There are two parts to Fishguard. There is Lower town Fishguard, where the famous film Under Milk Wood was filmed, and then there is main Fishguard town, where all the shops are.
There is a large variety of different shops, eateries, pubs and galleries in Fishguard that cater for all ages and tastes. The ferry port is in Goodwick which is about a 5 – 10 minute drive from Fishguard. There is a golf course at Priskilly, riding centres at Llanwrda and Dinas, all within easy drive of Fishguard.
