The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
The Pembrokeshire coast is glorious particularly around Strumble Head with its magnificent lighthouse. There is a Shuttle Bus which takes walkers back to their starting point to save retracing their steps.
We have a cromlech (ancient burial chamber) on our land and there is also a standing stone on our neighbours land. We have evidence of a stone age settlement on the moor.
There are numerous castles dotted along the coast. At Aberaidi you can see the Blue Lagoon where slate was mined.
Castel Henllys, which featured in a TV series, is a recreation of an Iron Age Fort.
The adventurous can try Coasteering which is a mixture of swimming, scrambling and climbing around the coast.
It is also possible to take a day trip to Ireland.
Fishguard area
There is a new Sports Centre in Fishguard with an excellent swimming pool. Surfing can be found at Newgale and there is also a Riding School with an opportunity to ride along the beach.
There are several golf courses including Priskilly which is less than 10 minutes drive away
Oakwood Adventure Park appeals to children. Fishguard has a Music Festival. The historic Cathedral town of St. Davids is approx. 15 kms. away.
There are excellent restaurants in the area from the award winning Fish and Chip shop in Letterston to gourmet meals. A chef in the area caters for holiday cottages to take the 'self catering' out of your holiday. Groceries can be delivered to your cottage.
There are numerous craft shops to visit including Tregwynt where they have an old woollen Mill.
There are historic places to visit such as the many castles dotted along the coast. The Welsh Wildlife Centre is located near to Cardigan, The Welsh Botanic Gardens are about an hour's drive away.

Guestbook for Garnllys
We have just returned from a fantastic week at your cottages in Wales. Sarah had often told us what a wonderful place it was and indeed she is right. The weather was sunny and unusually warm for the time of year. We lived in Carmarthenshire for 10 years so we were glad to be back and have a base from which to visit old friends. We are hoping to return soon. Nov 2009
