The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
There are outstanding walks along the Pembrokeshire Path. The cliffs are carpeted with flowers in spring and baby seals may be seen in the coves in the autumn.
The area is excellent for bird watching. It is fascinating to watch the pattern of migrating birds in the autumn. The RSPB islands of Ramsey Island and Skoma can also be visited.
The Botanic Gardens of Wales are well worth a visit
The Fishguard area
There is a new Sports Centre in Fishguard with a first class swimming pool and tennis courts. There are historic places to visit such as the many castles dotted along the coast. The Welsh Wildlife Centre is located near Cardigan. Castel Henllys, as seen on TV, is nearby. Oakwood Adventure Park appeals to children. Fishguard has a Music Festival. The historic cathedral town of St. Davids of approx 15 kms away.
The adventurous can try Coasteering which is a mixture of swimming, scrambling and climbing around the coast.
There is an excellent chef nearby who caters for the cottages. Groceries can be delivered. There are many good restaurants in the area ranging from a simple fish and chip restaurant to gourmet restaurants.
It is also possible to take a day trip to Skomer and Ireland.

The situation of the cottage is quite remote - but the views and the location more than make up for that. Everything needed is at the cottage and the owners very helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay. |
Guestbook for Y Bwthyn (The Cottage)
We had a lovely time and the cottage was wonderful, thank you so much.
SS Xmas 2011
just wanted to say thank you for such a great stay last week. The cottages and all the facilities were excellent. It’s a fantastic location and being set back from the road and in amongst the standing stones and burial chambers with a view of the sea and hills is very special.
We did all the usual things – boat trips, surfing, fishing, beaches, archaeology etc. We had a couple of interesting sea mists come up, but on the whole, the weather was pretty kind to us and we got lots of sun.
I hope that we’ll be able to stay again at some point in the future.
Thanks again HB Aug 2011
We never took the opportunity to give you some very positive feedback from our holiday in Wales. We really had a fantastic holiday: enjoyed the house tremendously! The quietness, space, atmosphere of the house made it a very good holiday. Our girls (11, 12 and 14) also enjoyed the countryside, the rock behind the house and feeding the cows. JJ Holland 2011
We've had a great time. ......the internet has worked really well.
thanks

This is just to say that we really enjoyed our week at Y Bwthyn. We indeed found it to be comfortable and a great base to explore Pembrokeshire. Our children seemed to prefer just being at the cottage to going out to the beach or for a coastal walk. MC Feb 2011
I just wanted to let you know, that we have had a fabulous holiday in Y Bwthyn. Your cottage and the surroundings were fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of our stay there. Even the cold did not stop our kids from spending lots of time outdoors and climbing the nearby rocks every day. DD New Year 2010/11
We had a wonderful holiday and the weather was beautiful. The cottage was really lovely, and we hope to go back again early next summer. I'd just like to thank you and Mr. & Mrs. Watson for all your help, and we look forward to staying at Y Bwthyn in summer 2011!
Thanks again. C August 2010
Just a quick note to thank you for another lovely break - we really appreciate you making Y Bwythn and Cnwc available.
The weather was lovely, the family from Ireland really enjoyed the cottages (which are beautiful!) and a good time was had by all at the birthday celebrations. MC June 2010
We have found the cottage, thank you its wonderful. R May 2010
We are now all safely back from our (too) short break at Y Bwthyn and we would just like to say what a wonderful time we all had. The cottage was even better than we expected, the surroundings were idylic and we were really lucky with the weather. Please could you pass on our thanks to Mrs Watson as the cottage was exceptionally clean on our arrival and we are all looking forward to a return trip in the future. M April 2010
Just to thank you for a lovely holiday, in a special cottage. The location is amazing with its views, and still not far from so many places to visit. All the children want to go back again next year….! H July 2009
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in your cottage. The view is fabulous & we were lucky enough to be visited by a fox & a badger several times. We have managed to fill our 2 weeks with fun & interesting acitivities for the kids with no difficulty at all. Many thanks for a lovely holiday.

We had a lovely time in your cottage last week. What a beautiful area. We walked miles inspite of some nasty weather on occasions. Thank you so much for the comfort in the cottage,we could not have wished for better. We certainly hope to stay there again. Trusting that Mrs Watson was pleased with the way we left the cottage, and our thanks to her for all her help when needed.

Once again we would like to thank you for the use of your delightful cottage at Garnllys. We very much enjoyed our third visit finding yet more beautiful places as well as revisiting old favourites. I was pleased to record 100 different species of birds..
