The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region

This is an area of mountains, sea and national park and somewhere that has been attracting holidaymakers for many years. Pembrokeshire Coast national Park in the south west is a favourite holiday destination, with miles of coastal footpaths and wonderful seascapes; lots of Blue Flag beaches and seas rich in marine life. Further east Carmarthenshire also has lots to attract holidaymakers, with historic castles, mountains, rivers and of course coastline. No matter where you choose your never too far away from mountains and the sea and of course there is the thriving cities of Cardiff and Swansea to visit, where you'll find lots of first class shops, cafes and restaurants.

Fishguard is situated on the mouth of the Gwaun River and is full of shops, pubs, and even a sports centre for when the weather doesn't go in your favour. The town is perfect for picking up locally caught fish for your BBQ and the excellent sporting facilities at the harbour means you can enjoy everything from yachting to windsurfing. There is also a small beach with lovely walks to be had in all directions. You can pick up the Pembrokeshire Coastal path which is nearby and enjoy a stroll or lengthy hike along one of Britain's most scenic coastal paths. From the port at Goodwick you can take a ferry out to Ireland for a day trip adding contrast to your very traditional Welsh holiday!
