Villa Olivia is situated on a hill with olive grooves with spectacular views on the clear blue waters of the bay of Finikounda, the little islands in front and the Tayegetos mountains.
The nearest village is Finikunda (2,5 km) scattered with small, often authentic taverna's and restaurants, right at the shore.
You can visit the premonitory in Methoni, a crumbled castle overlooking the expansive seas or you can visit the ancient site in Pylos, previously a monastery, now a well-kept open-air museum.
The 40 km of coast between Roumanou and Koroni, through Voidikilia, Pylos and Methoni are, let me tell you, ....... breathtaking!. It is the last region in Europe that isn't yet spoiled by mass-tourism. Lovers of sailing, surfing and diving come here from everywhere to enjoy their passions.
The house was built in 2005 and it has 2 apartments on the ground floor and one on the first floor, each with a covered terrace and the same beautiful view.
Studio Selene has a living with an open kitchen, a dining table and chairs, 2 single beds, a big bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a sink. The studio is accessible for wheelchairs since it has no thresholds, wide doors (1 m), and an adapted toilet seat.
The breeze coming from the sea makes it, even in summer, agreeable to sit among the olive trees in the garden. The nearest beach ( Mavrovoumi) can be reached by foot in 20 minutes and in 5 minutes by car.

The Messenia Region
Finikounda is located in the south-west Peloponnese. A lush area filled with olive and fruit trees with beautiful sandy beaches, azure blue waters, an array of local tavernas and cafes. It makes a wonderful base for either exploration or simple relaxation.
The nearest major village, or town if you wish, is Pylos, a centre with platia and shops and streets and steps (very steep!) leading around. Worth visiting is the ancient castle of Pylos, the bay of Voidikilia (cow's stomach) at 10 km from Pylos via Gialova. It is a stunning little bay where you find yourself in paradise and next to it is Golden beach, the lagoon and wetlands bird watching nature reserve(20min).
The ride from Pylos to Methoni, about 15 km. leads through olive-groves, the main industry just to provide the locals with a living.
Although smaller than Pylos Methoni has just as much to offer: platia with a view to the beach, and Methoni Castle is a must-have-seen!
The Costa Navarino Golf Resort, Nestor's Palace, Ancient Messini, Kalamata, Olympia, Mystras (near Sparta) and the Mani peninsula are all within reach for daily excursions.
From there you may wish to come back to our hamlet and find rest, peacefulness and silence as much as you like!
Kamaria/Mavrovoumi ideal for families with direct access to the beach by car.
Finikounda (3km) a wide range of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Lampes (4km) starting with shalow water, ideal for the little ones.
Methoni (8km) with a sstunning view on the castle and directly on the main square of the village.
Pylos (18 km) , this beautiful village has a small beach and a quay on the bay of Navarino
Gialova (22 km) Unique sunsets and direct access to cafes and restaurants.
Golden Beach (25 km) a beautiful beach that stretches from Gialova to Paleokastro. Ideal for seasports. There is a canteen where umbrella's and sunbeds are available.
Voidikilia (27 km) means “cow's stomach” because of it's horseshoe shape. It is voted by the New York times as one of the world's 10 best beaches.
Koroni castle (18km) Venetian castle
Methoni castle (8km) Venetian castle dating from 1209 A.D.. The largest castle in the Peloponnese, covering an area of 1.200 acres.
Pylos castle (20km) Turkish castle dating from 1573 A.D.
Nestor's Palace at Chora (32 km). It was inhabited from the 13th to the 11th century B.C. There is also a museum. (2013 closed for renovation)
Ancient messini (50 km) 8th century B.C. One of the most interesting archeological sites of Greece. There is also a museum.
The area of Finikounda is still unspoilt by commerciality and tourism, the beaches are safe for young children and the waters are crystal clear.
The 40 km of coast between Roumanou and Koroni, through Voidikilia, Pylos and Methoni, let me tell you, is breathtaking!.
It is the last region in Europe that isn't yet spoiled by mass-tourism. Lovers of sailing, surfing and diving come here from everywhere to enjoy their passions.
Or, biking, horse riding, take a walk down country tracks, through olive groves or along long stretches of sandy beaches.
Voidikilia is a protected nature site (Natura 2000) with the Yialova Lagoon and its fantastic bird life, chameleons, sea turtles, ancient castle and stunning cove of Nestor!
Costa Navarino Golf course is located at Romanos (25min), a luxury 5-star high-end complex of hotels, residences, restaurants, spas, recreation facilities and shops featuring two brand new signature 18 hole golf courses which are crafted across natural terrain to reflect the rugged outlines of the distant mountains with several holes that play directly along the sea

We were staying at the villa Olivia for about two weeks. It was pretty convenient studio nicely located with very warm hearted owners. Bruno found us out on the road when we helplessly tried to search for the villa in the dark for the first time and showed us the right way. We had everything in the villa what we needed. Beautiful view from the terrace to the blue sea, mountains and olive groves! Very comfortable house with internet connection and all necessary stuff. The area is just fantastic from natural, historic and aesthetic points of view! We swam every day on a new beach, all beaches were with a crystal blue water, golden sand, surrounded by picturesque limestone rocks. On the every beach there were only a few people if any at all. So it is a very good location if one wish to find a retreat from a common commercial tourism concomitant with crowds of noisy people. From our location we could easily reach the famous historic spots like Sparta, Mystras , Olympia and Corinth within one day. Closeness of the cosy towns like Finikounda, Pylos, Methony and Koroni with a very Greek character, nice taverns, authentic small shops and friendly locals made our life filled with the spirit of the Mediterranean exoticism, adventure and warmth. Evening conversations with owners Sabine and Bruno at their flat and their advises what to do in the area brightened up the our evenings. It was a real holiday!

"Lovely setting for a Greek holiday in a wheelchair."
I found this apartment on the Internet when looking for accommodation with wheelchair accessibility in Greece. The website was appealing and the apartment lived up to all expectations. The bonus was the friendliness and consideration of its on-site owners, Bruno and Sabine, whose olive orchard provided an attractive rural setting for our 10 days holiday. The apartment was clean, well-equipped and perfectly suitable for myself in the wheelchair. The sun-drenched patio compensated for the fact that the ground was too steep to get into the garden, but the parking and forecourt were perfectly manageable.

"Beautiful location, peaceful setting, welcoming people"
We stayed ın the apartment for four nights. It was pleasant, clean, and had everything we needed. Bruno and Sabine are ıncredibly welcoming and helpful hosts.
We went for walks, swam at the beach, and explored the eyes of Venice (Methoni and Pylos). We even helped pıck olives for oil making!
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Olivia and wıll definitely return if we come back to Greece.

"Peace and tranquility with a warm welcome"
This was our first experience of mainland Greece and I don't think we could have chosen better. The accommodation and its location were fabulous, just what we wanted. Secluded with great views but close enough to restaurants and supermarkets to make life easy.
The area has many fine beaches some more secluded than others and the sea was crystal clear, warm and a real pleasure to swim in.
The hosts Sabine and Bruno go above and beyond the call of duty to make ones stay that little bit special. We did a bit of exploring as there are many interesting towns and sites to see in the area, but we spent most of our time on various local beaches as the weather was so good.
We are considering returning again to Studio Selene as it is everything we expected and more.

"Beauty, peace and tranquillity"
What a place! Beautifully equipped studio (with wet room) set among olive trees on hillside. Large balcony giving fantastic views down to the sea by day and moonlit night (and, as inveterate late-night readers, we also much appreciated excellent lighting). Beauty, peace and tranquillity in spades! Also a great base for exploring the spectacular coastline and beaches (and nearby Finikounda beach itself is lovely), not to mention castles, ruins and lovely old towns, of the Messina peninsula. Had read about the area beforehand, but still unprepared for how beautiful and unspoilt it is. Could have stayed here for months!
Many thanks to Sabine and Bruno for your welcome (and kind compliments on having found our way, albeit by unorthodox routes!) - you both made us feel totally at home. (Thanks, Bruno, too for coffee and absorbing and moving conversation - we won't forget that). Altogether, a little piece of paradise - hope we can return some day.

"Lovely apartment with wonderful hosts"
We spent two nights here. The apartment is lovely - spacious with a balcony overlooking olive trees. We got a bit lost on the way and our host came on foot to find us. Then when our car broke down he also helped us. And they posted back belongings that we left behind. Bruno and Sabine are so welcoming it is like staying with friends. It is about five minutes drive from the village up in the hills so is the perfect place if you are looking for some tranquility.

"A Hidden Paradise"
We travelled in June for 3 weeks in Peloponesse, no fixed dates for apts. I called Villaolivia for the Studio, they had room for us. Bruno met us when we arrived by car. A short 5 min. drive up the hill to their home. Our studio just super like the photos, seperate entrance, beautiful view, quiet, great bed, clean, all you need to cook plus a charcoal barbecue. We made fresh fish several times. Finikounda, a genuine Greek Village with a small port, its just beautiful. Its also easy to visit Koroni & Methoni etc. from this point.
The beaches and water are perfect and clean. Definately a place to stay if you are in the region.
