The Limassol District
Limassol is Cyprus' largest seaside resort. The Troodos mountains to the north act as a magnificent backdrop to the city that spreads for ten miles along the coast. It is in these mountains that most of the grapes are grown and indeed since the Middle Ages when the Crusaders held Cyprus under Richard the Lionheart, Limassol has been known to traders for its wine and sugar cane. Now, this second largest city of Cyprus, with a population of 135,000 is the centre of its wine-making industry, and an important commercial and tourist centre.
Limassol has a wide seafront promenade and bustling little shopping streets in the old town. There are many beaches to choose from and a large selection of cafes and restaurants. Unlike some other areas in Cyprus, Limassol is a year-round tourist destination. It has an active and vibrant nightlife catering mostly to the young, hip crowd, but really with a smattering of “something for everyone”. Limassol stages some of the Island s best-known festivals.
Finikaria village has a population of approximately 300 and dates back to medieval times. Today there is a church, library and taverna in the centre of the village. The village taverna, approximately 5 minutes walk (less than 1/2 km) from Elia house, provides cooked breakfasts, light meals, a full mezze on Friday evenings and curry evening on Tuesdays. It also has a pool table and children's playground. More general information on the village is available at: www.finikaria.org/en.
Finikaria village and its surrounds are great for hiking, trail riding and nature lovers, with miles of trails, paths and unspoiled scenery. It is a wonderful place to relax away from the bustle of the tourist areas and busy beaches and provides easy access to more remote (and also popular) mountain villages as well as to local historic sites of interest including Limassol and Kolossi castles and ancient Amathus and Kourion.
A must do for families in the summer is the nearby Fasouri Watermania Waterpark, which in 2007 was awarded Europe’s Leading Waterpark Attraction by the World Travel Awards. There are many other family attractions nearby including a wide variety of beaches and watersports, horse riding, go-karting, quad bike safaris, ice-skating, paintballing and golf among many others.

"Best Villa and location we have ever stayed in"
When we all arrived at Elia House it was very late at night and dark so we couldn't really see what was around us very well outside but were very impressed when we opened the door to the house. On entering we were greeted by a lovely spacious living room with high ceilings, very well lit and fantastic ceiling fans which all added to the wonderful decor inside.Every bedroom was comfortable and airy and there was also a very well equipped kitchen and good size bathroom. Come morning we couldn't believe the wonderful views of the mountains that surrounded the house, not to mention the swimming pool and gardens of Elia House. All said if your looking for a good family retreat for your holiday or a place for you and your friends to relax and enjoy cyprus look no further you just found it!

"Fabulous Villa and Pool - ideal for a family holiday"
The villa is attractive and so well equipped. Being all on one floor with a open plan kitchen and living area, it has an ideal layout for a family holiday. The pool is stunning with it's free-form shape and waterfall. It is also very large for this type of property and still warm enough to swim in at the end of October. The landcscaped gardens are beautiful and there are so many choices of where to sit and eat. With teeenagers, the table tennis table, trampoline and free wi-fi are all an added bonus. The location is also great - far enough from the coast that you are away from the crowds but close enough to make days out to the beach, main cities or mountains easy. Overall, it was just what we were looking for and we had a great holiday.

"What a wonderful holiday we had!"
We had a wonderful stay at Elia House and would like to go back. As we have been to Cyprus many times we know what is on offer, but to stay at this villa was like home from home. After a busy day at the beach or water park it was nice to come back and relax in the peace and quiet. The safety featurers around the pool area (gates) gave us the security we needed as a family so we didn't have to watch our 3 year old grandson every second of the day. A big thank you goes to Carolyn and Dave who came to see us asap after our grandson ran into the fly screen and broke it. He was fine, just being a typical 3 year old running around not looking where he was going. The house had everything and more to keep a 3 year old busy plenty of toys and games, in his words "My Holiday Home" He had a great time in and out of the pool. We managed to get him swimming (with arm bands). The beds were comfortable, plenty of clothes hangers in the wardrobes, the pool and gardens kept clean and tidy (thanks Paul) bathrooms clean and the kitchen had everything you need and more. What more can I say, we had a fantastic holiday with some lovely memories made. The next time we plan to come to Cyprus, which I hope will be soon, with the family or just friends we will book Elia House again.

I would like to say thank you for the wonderful house. This is our 5th time in Cyprus and this holidays are the best due to the great villa. We like the house very much as well as our friends who were with us. I would recommend the house to my friends and clients (I have travel agency in Saint-Petersburg).
