Yorkshire's breathtaking countryside offers so much space and variety, boasting the greatest area of
National parkland in the UK.
At over 1000 square miles in size, the North York Moors National Park offers a wide expanse of heather covered moors and lush green valleys. The area around Goathland (Heartbeat) is a particular favourite with walkers & ramblers.
The Yorkshire Coastline has more than 100 miles of stunning shoreline to explore.
Discover secluded coves, beautiful beaches and picturesque fishing villages.
Nearby, Filey's award wining gardens and traditional seaside charm draw visitors back year after year.
A gentle walk along the beach will take you about 45 - 60 minutes from the cottage to the heart of Filey town.
Bridlington and Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort, are only a short drive along the coastline (both about 10 miles) and offer a wide variety of family entertainment.
A scenic drive over the moors leads to Robin Hood's Bay, whilst beyond lies Whitby, a traditional fishing town with a rich maritime heritage, craft and antique shops.
All season attractions such as Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, Castle Howard and Burton Agnes Hall are all within easy reach as is 'The Deep' underwater experience at Hull.
Just forty miles away, York's myriad of delights include the magnificent Minster and the Jorvik Viking Museum.
In land, the picturesque village of Hutton-Le-Hole is worth a visit, as is the traditional market town of Pickering, gateway to the North York Moors.

Having holidayed on the East Coast from the age of 8-15 (over 20 years since!) I was keen to return for a weeks break with my husband and 5 month old son. As we knew the area fairly well, the house was easy to find and ideally located on the holiday park - just a few metres from the pub and leisure centre. It was clean and tidy and a comfortable base from which to visit all our favourite places on the Coast. We'd definitely go back the next time we want a break. And also many thanks for the personal service from the owner who kindly visited our house to deliver our swimming gear that we'd left in the washing machine - knew we'd forget something! |

We booked this cottage having been a regular at The Bay for over 2 years after seeing a sign in the window and we were not disappointed. This is an good sized 2 bedroom cottage which has been beautifully furnished and very well equipped with everything to a high standard. The cottage is the size of the 3 bedroomed cottages on the complex but with the luxury of the larger bedrooms upstairs. It has a lovely hall and downstairs WC, a self contained (and excellently equipped) kitchen - including great pans and knives (which is unusual!) plus open plan living and dining room with lovely decor and sofas/home comforts. Upstairs is a large double bedroom, large twin and large family bathroom. The property is immaculately clean and features televisions in 3 rooms with freeview and freesat and a DVD player and ipod docks/music stations. The complex is now well developed and there is plenty to do. We had a lovely meal in the John Paul Jones pub and used the new leisure complex for swimming. You can walk down to the beach as well and I recommend the Brown Room in Filey for top notch fish and chips. This place has everything for a lovely break - what makes it different is the care and attention the owners take to cleanliness, and how equipped the cottage is in terms of the little touchs (books for children, tv's and lovely crockery and well equipped kitchen). You feel like you are in someones home and can feel how much it is loved and cared for. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning as soon as we can ! |

27 Sunrise Drive is a real home from home. The house was absolutley immmaculate when we arrived and had everything we needed for our stay. Our two children (1yr and 6yrs) loved playing out in the garden area and made friends quickly with children in neighbouring properties. The house is ideally located being just across the road from the pub and the pool but is still very quiet. Would recommend walking along the beach to Filey (took about fifteen minutes but we did have the pushchair and obviously need to be aware of tide times). All in all a fantastic holiday in lovely accommodation. We will definitely be booking another stay. |
