The Yorkshire region
The Yorkshire Coastline has some of the most dramatic views in the British Isles and Filey itself is a central point to explore not only this coastline but many other interesting places. The City of York is an hours drive away where you can go back to the age of the Roman Empire and enjoy some of the historical features of the City Like the Viking Museum, The Castle Museum, Cruises on the Ouse and much more.
Scarborough is six miles away with its vibrant centre and even more vibrant night life.
Whitby is 25 miles away and of course is where Captain Cook was born and learned his skills as a sailor. Then again Whitby is where Dracula was invented by the author and there is a tradition within the town which keeps the stories alive
No more than an hours drive and you are in the North Yorkshire Moors where you can visit places like Goatland more famously know as Aidensfield in the Heartbeat series. Catch a steam train from Pickering to Grosmont and see the volunteers working on real steam engines to preserve the heritage of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Filey itself is and Edwardian Town which was used as a holiday retreat for the wealthy from West Yorkshire at the turn of the century and still retain much of the charm of that period.
A short drive takes you to the RSPB Bird sanctuary at Bempton where you can get up close to Puffins and Gannets either physically or by remote control using the cliff top cameras.
Flamborough Head is not far away and offers view of the whole of the Yorkshire Coastline on clear days even to Spurn Point some 40 miles away not to be missed and also offers some interesting walks along the cliff tops

If all guests were like these then I would save a fortune on cleaning. Thank you for leaving it so tidy and I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. We do try and create a welcoming atmosphere. These guests did not have transport but were so central that they managed to do a lot of things without travelling far.
