Filey is a traditional unspoilt seaside town with miles of clean beaches and the Brigg to explore the rock pools, and is quieter than Scarborough and Whitby. Visitors Tend to return to Filey with their friends and family after enjoying their childhood holidays here.
On an evening there are many picturesque walks and trails to be followed as well as pubs serving good quality food and drinks. There are 2 lovely Italian restaurants, Chinese and Indian as well as those serving local food.

Stretch of sandy beach is protected by the rocky grandeur of Filey Brigg. Surfing, fishing, yachting, golf, walking and bird watching are just a few of the available activities. The Evron Centre provides plentiful entertainment with music, song, dance and theatre on offer.
Filey has many restaurants and hostelries providing superb cuisine. Should you wish to travel further afield you will find that Yorkshire glories in one of the finest stretches of coastline in Britain, golden beaches, rocky coves and towering cliffs. Further to the north is Whitby, a picturesque fishing port and inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Moors Railway, 18 miles of preserved railway are both close by, as is Flamingo Land.

The Cleveland Way, a 110 mile walking route, runs from Hemsley in North Yorkshire to Filey Brigg. Pack a picnic enjoy a walk up the coast or perhaps inland towards the North York Moors.
A visit to Filey Museum makes a great introduction to the town's fishing heritage. The town also hosts an annual Edwardian Festival, featuring afternoon teas, brass bands and authentic Punch and Judy shows.
