On an evening there are many picturesque walks and trails to be followed as well as pubs serving good quality food and drinks. There are 2 lovely Italian restaurants, Chinese and Indian as well as those serving local food.

Filey

Popular events within the town include the Filey Festival (late June), Filey Regatta (14-15 July), Filey Lifeboat Weekend (21-22 July), Muston Scarecrow Festival (20 minute walk from the LET -the whole town puts on an array of varying Scarecrows from traditional to well-known celebrities!- 28 July-5 August), Filey Fishing Festival (1-9 September).Pleasant walks to the beach approx 10 minute walk, Filey Dams and nature reserve 15 minute walk, Into town 10 minute walk.

Good pubs with high quality food, Michelin approved restaurants within easy access, 15 minutes, animal farm at top of road, good access for the coastal walks. Flamingo Land Theme Park, Eden Camp, Yorkshire Lavender, the moors and dales all within an hours drive. Children welcome from any age.

Stretch of sandy beach is protected by the rocky grandeur of Filey Brigg. Surfing, fishing, yachting, golf, walking and bird watching are just a few of the available activities. The Evron Centre provides plentiful entertainment with music, song, dance and theatre on offer.

Filey has many restaurants and hostelries providing superb cuisine. Should you wish to travel further afield you will find that Yorkshire glories in one of the finest stretches of coastline in Britain, golden beaches, rocky coves and towering cliffs. Further to the north is Whitby, a picturesque fishing port and inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. The North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Moors Railway, 18 miles of preserved railway are both close by, as is Flamingo Land.

The Seafront Sculpture Trail features a series of artworks inspired by Filey's natural heritage, designed by artist Russ Coleman. Take a stroll along the promenade to explore the exhibits.

The Cleveland Way, a 110 mile walking route, runs from Hemsley in North Yorkshire to Filey Brigg. Pack a picnic enjoy a walk up the coast or perhaps inland towards the North York Moors.

A visit to Filey Museum makes a great introduction to the town's fishing heritage. The town also hosts an annual Edwardian Festival, featuring afternoon teas, brass bands and authentic Punch and Judy shows.

Of course, one of the best things to do in Filey is simply sit on the beach with a fish butty in your hand, watching the fishermen steer their trawlers in and out of the bay. Perfect on a sunny summer's day.

You could easily spend a long weekend in Filey, appreciating the wildlife and unspoiled natural beauty. The Filey Dams Nature Reserve is a must-see for wildlife enthusiasts, with its bird watching hides and population of great crested newts. Or visit the Bird Garden and Animal Park to discover a mix of exotic animals, birds and wildlife. Filey Brigg also has some fascinating geology and marine life, and is surrounded by hundreds of wrecks which remain a source of intrigue to professional divers.

Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park Opened in 2008, this family-run park has been attractively designed to create a visitor attraction that appeals to people of all ages and abilities.
