House | 6 bedrooms | sleeps 12
A charming independent villa with private swimming pool, set in the wonderful countryside of Tuscany.
This historic residence is located near the ancient town of Castelfiorentino on the Francigen Route, once the main road connecting Rome to France.
La Romantica is steeped in history and is one of the most luxurious villas that Luxury Home in Italy offers. Its origins date back to the early 13th century when a powerful Longobard clan from the Elsa Valley - the Conti Alberti - chose La Romantica as the site for their castle. This was later converted into the elegant villa you see today. The Conti Alberti family owned the property until the 17th century. Traces of the original 13th-century fort can still be seen in the square brick tower and in the walls alongside the villa.
The villa's proximity to Florence and major Tuscan routes allows guests staying at Villa La Romantica to easily explore Chianti and all of Tuscany's tourist attractions.

The Tuscany region
Italy is a wonderful country that combines stunningly landscape with unique culture. From it's modern cities to its classic
countryside there is such a variety of wondrous things to see and do. Italy's unique culture stems from its history of being many individual states/provinces.
The countries shape means that the coast is easily accessible from practically anywhere in the country.
There are many fantastic things to do in the
local area. As well as all the normal tourist activities available there is a plethora of historical churches/monasteries that are well worth a visit. A trip here
would not be complete without sampling some of the delicious local food and, of course, the wine.
