Home description

The villa is for rent during the holiday period and is also ideal for families interested in taking a sabbatical or spending time in Provence. The villa is situated on the hills overlooking the village of Figanieres (5 minute walk). The ski slopes are within one to two hours drive from the villa. The beaches of the Cote d'Azur are within 35 minutes drive from the village. A wide range of golf courses are within a short distance. Domestic cleaning is available upon request. The gardens, terraces and pool areas surrounding the villa are regularly maintained.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region

Provence is renowned for its temperate climate, low rainfall, clear light and days of bright sunshine. The coastal areas, particularly the Alpes Maritimes have a mild, dry sunny winter, but inland the climate is harsher and in the mountains there is a considerable amount of snow.
The markets in Provence seem more alive and fascinating than in any other region. There is everything on offer from the traditional Provencal crafts to the famous pottery and an enormous range of vegetables and food. The visitor who is seeking fashionable and elegant surroundings can choose between the animation of Cannes and Monte Carlo or the quieter more discreet life of Hyeres, Beaulieu, Menton, Cap Frrat or Cap Martin.


Figanieres area

The village is situated in the heart of the Var at an altitude of 200 metres, is 35 mins from the sea, is near the Gorge du Verdon and the Gorge de Pennafort.
Figanieres is surrounded by the beautiful perched villages of Callas, Bargemon, Claviers, la Motte, le Muy, les Arcs.
The economy of Figanieres depends on agriculture and tourism. There are many local wineries and olive groves which produce wonderful olive oil. The village is situated in the heart of the Var at an altitude of 200 metres, is 35 mins from the sea, is near the Gorge du Verdon and the Gorge de Pennafort.

During the summer months many festivals take place in the region.

The capital of the Var is the town of Draguignan. On market day the peaceful streets fill with people from the surrounding wine growing districts.


How to get there

Approx an hour inland from anywhere on the Riviera.
1 hr 20 mins from Marseille Airport . Exit a8 motorway in the direction of Nice at sortie 36 Le Muy.
Approx. 1 hour from Nice Airport. Exit a8 motorway in the direction of Aix en Provence at sortie 36 le Muy. Once you exit the a8 it is approx 35 mins drive.
Figanieres will be signposted en route.
