Gowanlea is situated in the East Neuk of Fife village of Earlsferry and Elie, a popular holiday destination for families for many years. The property offers spacious and modern facilities yet retaining the period features of a house that is over 150 years old. It is within 100 metres of an award winning beach that offers hours of fun for the family with rockpools for exploring, watersports for the more adventurous, and a gently shelved approach to the sea - ideal for paddling, for all ages!!
Elie and Earlsferry are ideal for the active due to the excellent sports facilities - golf, tennis, bowls etc or for those that want to take a more leisurely approach on holiday, there are many walking routes on the Fife Coastal Path. To relax in the evening, there are a variety of local restaurants and cafes, or the traditional pub 100 metres away.
All in all, a fantastic location for memorable family holidays.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region
The Central Belt of Scotland offers an abundance of things to see and do, for families and people of all ages. From the array of wildlife, the walking opportunities, the shopping in Edinburgh and Perth to the many sporting locations - St Andrew's, Perth races, football in Edinburgh, etc, the house is centrally situated to take advantage of all of this.
The "Home of Golf" is within 30 minutes, the Capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, or as it is known "Athens of the North", is within an hour. The annual Edinburgh festival in August is definitely worth a visit as is the associated "Fringe Festival", with almost 24 hours a day of theatre, comedy, music and just plain entertainment!!
Fife / Earlsferry area
The East Neuk of Fife is a magical place for your holiday. The traditional fishing villages and the quaint harbours, together with the excellent beaches make a fantastic location for a holiday. Elie and Earlsferry villages is the place to be!!
The Kingdom of Fife is home not only to the "Home of Golf" but also another 50 approx. golf courses, enough to satisfy the most enthusiastic of golfers. Many are links courses offering a different challenge to the parkland or heathland courses. Many are used for Open qualifying when the Open is held at St. Andrew's, or home to the annual Dunhill Cup held every October at nearby Kingsbarns and St. Andrew's.
There are many festivals and events held throughout the year in the villages up and down the East Neuk coast. Visitors return year after year to this area of Scotland - why not join them?
How to get there
The charming and historic villages of Elie and Earlsferry are less than an hour from Edinburgh, two hours from Glasgow and within easy reach of St. Andrew's.
Edinburgh and Glasgow airports offer an abundance of choice of airlines, including BA, bmi, Easyjet, Ryanair, Globespan, Lufthansa, and many other budget airlines including jet2.com, centralwings etc. Car hire can be arranged at the airports for easy transportation to Elie and Earlsferry, with the Central Scotland motorway network ensuring easy access to the Kingdom of Fife.
There are train links at Leuchars and Cupar, with bus services operating throughout Fife and the Edinburgh regions.

Further details indoors: Gowanlea offers spacious accommodation over two levels, easliy sleeping 6 people in three bedrooms, with the option of a bed settee in one of the two lounges.
Each lounge has a TV, one with Freeview satelitte TV and DVD player, the other with a video player. The two lounges offer ideal "quiet" space for the adults whilst the children entertain themselves next door!
The separate dining room easily seats 8 people around the dining table and is situated next to the fully equipped kitchen. The utility room contains the washing machine and drying space.
The master bedroom faces the front of the property and has an en-suite shower-room. The other two twin rooms are also on the second level, together with the recently refurbished family bathroom, complete with shower also.
The lovely secluded back garden provides a sheltered and safe place to relax and play in.
Further details outdoors: The property sits on Earlsferry High Street and offers unrestricted on-street parking directly opposite the house. The path opposite leads down to Elie beach and hours of endless fun await.
The golf course is 100 meteres away, with Elie Sports Club approx. 200 metres. The local pub is just around the corner, with the local shops 1km leisurely walk or a quick 5 minute drive.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required with the booking - confirmation will only be issued after this is received. The balance of the rental is due 8 weeks before the start of the rental period.
A breakage deposit of £150 will be payable with the final balance. This will be refunded immediately after the rental upon inspection of the property.
The rates are inclusive of towels, bed linen, gas and electricity.
Rental periods run from Saturday to Saturday, with the exception of Christmas and New Year. Short breaks are available outwith peak periods. Please contact the owner for details.
Guests are welcome from 4pm on the arrival day and are requested to vacate the property by 10am on the departure date.
