The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

Queen Ermengarde chose Balmerino for the site of the Abbey due to its unique climate, a sheltered position with very little rain, overlooking the River Tay. Balmerino is centrally placed for all major tourist attractions Edinburgh Castle 1 hr by train, St. Andrews 15 minutes by car, 40 golf courses within one hours drive.

From Dundee, across the Tay Road Bridge to the A92 dual carriageway. Shortly thereafter at the Forgan roundabout carry on the A92 to the Five Roads roundabout and take the third exit signposted Wormit. Approximately 2 miles on turn right towards Wormit and then immediately left to Balmerino and on entering the village Abbey Steading is on the right.

10 miles from St. Andrews and Dundee. Easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow , Perth and Aberdeen.
