About the home

Villa Ruya is a brand new spacious villa situated between the Mediterranean and the Toros mountains. It has four floors and a fantastic swimming pool with separate children's pool. The large terrace is great for relaxing and al fresco dining, overlooking the pool and offering superb sea views. All bedrooms have access to a balcony with fantastic views either of the Mediterranean or the mountains.

The villa has marble floors throughout and air conditioning in every bedroom. The large ground floor is an open-plan kitchen/lounge leading to a wide terrace running the full length of the villa. On the terrace there is a separate dining area with barbecue and a relaxing sitting area. There is a constant slight sea breeze which is very welcome on the hot summer days. There is a downstairs toilet/utility.

On the first floor is the large master bedroom with en suite, and a spacious double bedroom. These share a balcony at the front of the villa with a fantastic sea view. The third bedroom on this floor has its own balcony with views of the magnificent Toros mountains.

The second floor has two generous double/twin bedrooms and a large bathroom. These share a balcony at the front of the villa with a stunning sea view. All balconies have table and chairs to relax and enjoy the surrounding superb views. The spacious basement has been converted to a games room with darts, table tennis and table football.

Perfect for large families and groups wanting a place to 'get away from it all' in a beautiful private villa without being isolated.

- Large swimming pool (11 mtrs) is cleaned every other day. Not available from November til end of April.
- English speaking representative available to deal with problems.
- 10 minutes' walk to good sized supermarket, local butcher and bakery. All do home delivery.
- Information pack in the villa with information on local transport, amenities and places to visit/activities.
- Please note that during peak season the water or electricity may occasionally be cut off for short periods by the local council.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise coast is rich in history and has a stunning coastline. There are several ancient sites within driving distance. It is also home to some of Turkey's most beautiful beaches and amazing landscapes. The climate is hot in summer, warm in spring and autumn, and mild in winter.

The nearby towns of Calis and Fethiye are well-developed tourist resorts with great shopping, restaurants and bars. There's a huge beach at Calis. The pretty town of Gocek with its upmarket shops and restaurants is a short drive away. Explore the stunning bays around Gocek by gulet. For those interested in history, the ancient towns of Tlos and Xanthos are not far.

The Fethiye / Ciftlik area

The unspoilt village of Ciftlik is perfect for a relaxing holiday, yet is only minutes away from great beaches and the popular resorts of Calis and Fethiye. There are good local amenities and excellent transport links. The dolmus (minibus) stop is a two minute walk from the villa and runs approximately every hour to Calis and Fethiye. From Fethiye you can take a dolmus to most places in the area.

The nearest beach is a few minutes' drive, but there are prettier, uncrowded beaches about 10 minutes away.

Fethiye is about a 15 minute drive. The old town has a maze of alleyways with traditional shops and restaurants. There is also an attractive promenade with marina, plenty of bars and restaurants.

Calis - 10 minutes away. This is a well-developed tourist area on the edge of Fethiye. It has a long beach, plenty of bars / restaurants, and Sultan's Aquapark - a perfect day out for the kids!

Oludeniz - the most famous beach in Turkey is only 20 minutes away. Fantastic place to go paragliding from Babadag mountain, do some watersports or just chill out!

Explore the Turquoise coast on one of the numerous boat tours from Fethiye or Gocek. See the stunning coastline and swim in secluded bays

Saklikent - walk through the river up the 'hidden gorge'. Breathtaking! About 40 minutes' drive.
Tlos and Xanthos - cities of great antiquity. Each about 45 minutes' drive
Dalyan - visit the thermal springs and mud baths.

Local activities include diving, fishing, paragliding, watersports, sailing, jeep safari, horse riding.

“Great villa with all you need for relaxing break” Villa was wonderful , the area was beautiful with plenty to see and do. A car is essential, I recommend hiring a boat for the day and a visit to salikent and olenduiz beach

“A lovely Villa highly recommended” My extended family (9 with teenagers) had a wonderful week at Villa Ruya. The arrangements with owner Mert, who was very helpful, were very straight forward and managed via intranet and e mails. Mert contacted us by phone at the villa to ensure we had all we needed and offer suggestions. The villa is private, high quality in design and furnishing with all we needed, intranet and TV for our fix of the olympics!, cool bedrooms with air con and balconies for great views.We spent hours in the pool which was cleaned daily. The villa is in a quiet village, so hire a car to explore, the local roads and directions easy to use. We recommend visiting Saklikent gorge , Olendeniz and Calis beach and Goeck harbour. By far our favourite trip was hiring a private boat - the Aegean Soul for the day, snorkelling in clear waters, pretty bays and a fresh bar b q on board- captain Denis spoke excellent english having lived in Bristol for some time. Highly recommend the Villa Ruya and staying in this part of Turkey for a relaxing holiday with plenty to see and do.
