About the home
Our spacious three bedroom, fully air conditioned villa is set within its own lush garden with private pool which is attended to daily, no more fighting for sunbed there is plenty by the pool whenever you want them. The villa is only a short 5min stroll from the best sunset beach called Calis, promenade and shops.
By day you can relax by the pool with its own sun terrace, which is furnished with sun loungers and also an outside cold water shower to help you cool off. The terrace is just perfect for al fresco dining, and has table and chairs to seat six people. There is a built in bbq on front terrace for your use. New for 2011, we have just extended the front juliet balcany on bedroom 1 it is now big enough to sunbathe on or just relax and unwind with evening drinks before you retire to bed.
The villa has three spacious bedrooms each with its own balcony for you to sit out on, relax and admire the views of the pool, mountains and surrounding area. The main bedroom has a double bed with its own en suite bathroom, which has a shower over the bath, and also a shower cubicle. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third room has two single beds. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and vanity table. There is a main bathroom that has a shower cubicle and large vanity unit.
The kitchen has all the facilities you need, including a breakfast bar area with marble work tops, and a laundry room, containing fire extinguisher, fire blanket, washing machine and clothes airer. It is fully equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils,19 litre hot and cold drinking water machine and dishwasher.
The large lounge/diner has 2 sofas and 2 armchairs, and is is exceptionally spacious, with an open fire place and dining area with seating for up to six people. Also t.v with digiturk dish and d.v.d player. If you need to use Wi- Fi for your laptop while you are here the maintenance company hire out dongles for a small fee.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom for your convenience.
If you're a young family enjoying your vacation in style, or a couple looking for a romantic holiday, this should be the villa for you. The villa is built within a private gated garden, making it a very safe place for children to play. Our well lit pool area is great for an evening in.

Special stone work style modern building with pillars and terrace to the front. The villa is fully secure with barred windows, gates, alarm system and smoke alarm.

There is plenty to do, you wont have enough time to fit it all in, mountain walks,paragliding,wind surfing diving, horse riding,fishing and stunning scenery to mention a few.
The popular resort Fethiye, hosts an important marina at the head of a beautiful bay strewn with islands. A hill crowned by the ruins of the crusader fortress built by the Knights of Rhodes overlooks the little port.
Above the town, (called Telmessos in antiquity), numerous Lycian rock tombs, reproducing the
facades of ancient buildings, were cut into the cliff face.
The Gulf of Göcek and its friendly marina is one of the Mediterranean's best sailing spots. Hisaronu, at the skirts of the Mount Babadag/Oludeniz, is a world-wide popular paragliding resort and boasts the most photographed beach/lagoon in Turkey.
The Fethiye / Calis Beach area
Calis Beach is 5 km from the Fethiye district centre. Along the 3km long beach is where the sea turtle caretta caretta lay their eggs. There are hotels, bars, restaurants, water park and you can also have a go at quad biking, there is also a floodlit tennis court in Calis. In May they have the Calis Beach Carnival.
Our neighbouring town of Fethiye is easily reached by local dolmus or by frequent and inexpensive water taxi. It is a stunning ancient harbour town bustling with fishing boats, gullets and international yachts, the perfect place to settle down to a delicious seafood meal at the fish market, where you choose freshly caught fish from the fish stall and one of the many restaurants will cook it for you with side dishes for a small fee.
. There are many other inviting restaurants. The maze of cobbled streets and bazaars are full of shops selling leather goods,silver, spices, turkish delight and hand made carpets. And an ancient Turkish bath, a must on your visit to Turkey. On Tuesdays Fethiye has the biggest market in the area, where locals gather to sell their wares, the perfect place to hone your bartering skills and stock up on holiday souvenirs. The 12 island boat trips leave Fethiye harbour every day the boats stop to let you swim at a number of stop off points along the way, and are a must at their attractive prices.
Recommended Trips:
Sakklikent Gorge is 300m deep and 18km long you can walk along it in the icy cold waters,have a go at ringo riding down the gorge or just have a drink in the restaurants that are suspended on wooden platforms.
Patara Beach-which has 9km of sandy beach, one of the longest in the med and has many archaeoglical sites and is the birth place of St.Nicholas(Santa Claus).
Kayakoy-Greek orthodox ghost village which was deserted at the start of the 19th century.
Gocek- yachting and sailing centre, surounded by pine clad hills
Dalyan- mud baths which are said to be very therapeatic and turtle beach with magnificent tombs carved into the cliff face.
Rhodes- day trip to Greek Island.
Pamukkale- cotton castle, it boast dazzling white petrified castles and home to Turkeys famous thermal spring.
Dalaman- now has an 18 hole golf course at the Hilton and Dalaman Golf and Spa Resort.
Oludeniz-popular for its paragliding from Mount Babadag Mountain, watch the paragliders gliding into the blue lagoon, have a go if you are brave enough! Also dont forget the butterfly valley boat trip.
Hisaronu- lots of shops and nightlife, bars and nightclubs staying open all night, thats if you have enough energy after going on all your trips.
From Villa Mendos stroll along the small river, past the local fishermen, over the bridge and you are amongst Calis vast array of shops, bars and restaurants in just a few minutes.
Our beach has the most beautiful and picturesque sunsets and a 3km stretch of sand and shingle. The car free promenade boasts many restaurants that vary from Turkish, Italian, Chinese etc. The Orient Express and Bella Mommas restaurants are firm favourites. All the restaurants have a good selection of kids meals.
Sultans water park is only a 5 minute walk from the villa, pay and stay all day.
On Sunday Calis has its own market selling fresh fruit and vegetables. Take home the beautiful bath towels or Turkey’s famous not so designer clothes and handbags!
Then finish of you shopping trip with freshly cooked pancakes, with a choice of fillings, made by the local women.
The Turkish bath is a must at the start of your holiday, the ultimate in pampering. After the body exfoliation you will keep that golden tan.
Hire out the Calis water taxis for just you and your group. The Captain will take you around Blue Bay Islands where you can swim and snorkel. Stop and fish, they will cook your catch on the bbq. This trip includes a delicious bbq lunch, afternoon tea then sails back at 6pm.
Don’t leave without a trip on Carol Tayfun’s Sunset Cruise. It departs Fethiye at 7pm. It moors at a secluded bay, swim as the most beautiful sun is setting. Dry off for a lovely bbq followed by singers and a disco on the way home.
Jeep safari is fun for all the family, travel through the Turkish countryside in an open top jeep, lunch is provided.
Turkish night at The Famous Billy's Beach B.B.Q. Party at Suger Beach. Sample local cuisine including mezes and drinks. There is folk dancing from many regions and you get the chance to join in with the glamorous belly dancers. This is a fun night out.

My wife and I have stayed at Villa mendos for the last three years. Over the years we have rented many villas, not just in Turkey, but throughout Europe. The reason why we have returned to Villa Mendos is simple, it's just fabulous. The description given by the owners is 100% accurate. As you enter the villa it has a feeling of being 'homely' It is equipped to the highest standard with quality fittings and furnishings, the layout is perfect. The swimming pool is attended daily, there are ample sun beds to sunbathe or if you prefer plenty of shade if you need it. The villa is in a perfect position close to all the restaurants and café's along the 1 mile promenade of Calis, but far away enough so you are not bothered by any noise. The villa has its own alarm system so you feel 100% safe which enables you to relax. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this Villa to anyone looking for a stress free holiday with superb facilities. It is a home from home. |

We stayed in Villa Mendos for a week in July and having never been to Turkey before didnt know what to expect. We werent disappointed, the villa is amazing and the pool a welcome break from the heat. A short walk takes you into Calis which has many restuarants on the front and an amaxing sunset which shouldnt be missed. There is also a water taxi that takes you to Fethiye, which is well worth doing and which we thought was nicer than Calis. If you are planning to make your own way from the airport to the villa we would strongly recommend that you have clear instructions as it is difficult to find and taxi drivers do not appear to be familiar with this area. Very enjoyable week and we would have no hesitation in returning |
