Home description
The apartment is a spacious 3 bedroom duplex, on two floors. Each of the bedrooms (one double and two single), has its own bath or shower room. The main bathroom is also equipped with a spa pool. With a sofa bed in the living room, the place sleeps 6 comfortably. The kitchen is well appointed, with washing machine, dishwasher and dual fuel cooker. The apartment is extremely well situated, being just 10 minutes walk from Fethiye's well known Tuesday market, and a short walk to the harbour. Guests can get local buses from the end of the road, to visit the blue lagoon at Olu Deniz, Calis beach and other locations.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The apartment is located in the town of Fethiye. The surrounding region contains beautiful stretches of coastline, with a number of both quiet and lively resorts. In addition, the mountains are close by and are used for sports such as paragliding in summer and skiing in winter. Well worth a visit are the ancient ruins in Tlos and the natural gorge at Sakklikent
The closest resorts to Fethiye are Calis and Olu Deniz. Calıs is unashamedly a vibrant resort with an excellent selection of bars, clubs and restaurants. The resort has a long shingle beach with crystal blue waters and a cooling breeze. Olü Deniz boasts a world famous beach and heritage site, the blue lagoon, featured in almost all Turkish holiday brochures. The beach is the focus for a range of sports, such as paragliding . Bicycles can be hired for cycling along the local beaches and back roads though the forest.
There are several historical sites in the area, including the Lycian rock tombs and the mud baths at Dalyan. For the kids there is a large Aqua park nearby in Calis. The old 'ghost town' of Kakyakoy is the place where Louis de Berniere set his novel Birds Without Wings. Further afield it is possible to visit Ephesus and Pammukale.
Fethiye / Fethiye Town area
Fethiye - the main town of the area - with a wide range of shops to suit both the local Turkish population and the tourist market. The population is just over 50,000. The town with its beautiful harbour is the centre for boat trips, excursions and transport to many places of interest. You can spend the whole day on a boat visiting islands, swimming and snorkelling and eating on board - or take the sunset cruise when you can swim as the sun set, then dance in the moonlight.
The apartment is in the centre of Fethiye and in walking distance from many bars, shops and restaurants. The large weekly open air market is about 2 minutes walk away. There, and in the local shops, you can buy 'designer' handbags, clothes, Turkish rugs, gold jewellery, pottery , very fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese , herbs and much more.The harbour is also a few minutes walk away. You can buy fish in the fish market and take it to one of the fish restaurants nearby to be cooked to order. There is a well stocked supermarket close by.
How to get there
The closest airport is Dalaman, which is about 60 minutes by road from Fethiye - slightly less now that the Gocek tunnel has opened. Alternatively you can fly to Antalya and the transfer from there is Fethiye takes about 2 hours. We can arrange transfers from either of these airports to the apartment.
Further details indoors: There are separate bathrooms with each bedroom, plus additional toilet next to kitchen. The main bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath. The apartment has four balconies - one with each bedroom and one next to the lounge and kitchen. One of the balconies has a built in barbeque.
Further details outdoors: There's a good size pool in the complex shared between about 12 apartments. It is set in a lovely shared garden surrounded by the other apartment flats and protected by a wall.

Guestbook
This is a lovely apartment, very comfortable and well equipped. It is ideally situated across the road from a large supermarket but set back off the main road so it is quiet and relaxing. The main road into Fethiye town centre is two minutes walk away while the road to Calis is at the end of the lane. Both are on dolmus routes. There is a large market nearby held on Tuesday and Friday which is definitely worth a visit. The swimming pool was great fun and we met many of the Turkish neighbours who were all very friendly. Sitting on the balcony in the evening with a cold drink was sheer bliss. A great time was had by all and we will definitely return. George, Jean, Euan and Kyle Taylor
