Escape the bustle! Private Beachfront Island Home
Your own private piece of paradise, Villa Margerita is a modern and newly refurbished home, located on Sovalye Island, a tiny, car-free island mainly populated with holiday homes. The air-conditioned villa sits on a private beach, facing the quaint, unspoiled town of Fethiye, on the Aegean coast. There’s also a larger beach a 2-minute walk away, which you’ll often have to yourself, and which is perfect for swimming.
The house itself is yours. The island, which is a protected heritage site, only has about 40 homes. The main part of the house has a fully equipped, with an open concept kitchen with dishwasher, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and ensuite bathroom, a living room with fireplace and atrium dining room with stunning views. There’s also a laundry room and an outdoor shower, perfect for a post-beach spritz. The villa has its own terrace right on a private beach, with exquisite views of the morning sunrise and a built-in barbeque.
There is also a separate suite (with a private entrance) with a queen-sized bed, bathroom and private balcony. It’s a great setup for friends and families traveling together, as well as for couples or someone wanting ultimate peace and tranquility.
Sovalye island is in Fethiye Bay. It’s a 5-minute water taxi trip from the mainland, or you can anchor your own boat. There is one restaurant on the island, a 10-minute walk from the villa with breathtaking sunset views. No cars are allowed on the island.
The quaint town of Fethiye, which is only a 45-minute drive from Dalaman airport, and a short sailing trip to the Greek islands. There are lots of great restaurants, including a fish market where you can choose your own fish and have it grilled. Foodies will love the selection of local fish – sea bass and sea bream abound, and Fethiye Bay is famous for prawns. Fethiye is also an agricultural hub, and figs, pomegranates, oranges, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, all kinds of greens and avocado grow here. There is also local cheese and yoghurt, olives, and a rare pine honey. Make sure to try the goat’s milk icecream as well.

Nearby: Calis beach with large choice of restaurants and bars and loads of shops, Olu Deniz (blue lagoon) 20 mins away, loads of public beaches on the side of the road. Further away, Butterfly Valley.
Sports
Paragliding capital of the world, scuba diving, whatever people do on Calis beach, snorkeling, sailing, yachting. Hiking famous butterfly valley trail. Fishing nearby or right in front of the villa.
Exploring
History buffs and Indiana Jones wannabes, Templar Knights graves on the island itself (Sovalye blah blah,) ancient historical sites, nearby – amphitheatre, rock tomb. Gulet charters, day trips to the 12 islands in the Fethiye Bay area, deserted greek ghost village. Sea turtles and dolphins.
Shopping: Fethiye Market – handicrafts, knockoffs, traditional textiles, souvenirs, beach wear. Brand new shopping mall with cinema and the latest Istanbul boutiques,
Day trips: by boat: 12 islands, Gocek, Kalkan, Ferry to Rhodes Island (2 hours)
